Stiletto Envy is a thought provoking play on relationships and gender norms. The two leads felt real and three dimensional and Pipes handles the play's subject matter with care and grace. Everyone who give this play a read will be utterly surprised and amazed.

Stiletto Envy is a somewhat humorous, somewhat telling story that through its descriptive actions and dialogue accomplishes the creation of a short but meaningful scene. The Play establishes relevance in a time when the wide variety of gender identities is becoming more accepted and recognized by the broad community. However, as we see in a character like Melanie, not all people, and perhaps especially heterosexuals, understand the terms with which non gender conforming people identify with. As a result of Shaun’s actions, we learn that assuming things based off of identity isn't always the...

His play was so powerful in its own way. Discussing gender roles and love in a way we wouldn't expect. The friendship and the chemistry between the characters was the selling point for me, and I just love this play so much. A light-hearted play by Pipes that is something worth the read.

  • Doug DeVita: Stiletto Envy

Oh, the heartbreak, ramifications, and consequences of dashed teenage expectations; Melanie and Shaun may be teens of today's world, but their problems and methods of dealing with them are age-old, and are dealt with frankly but tenderly by Eliana Pipes in this achingly delicate, gently funny, and sad-but-hopeful little gem.

This play makes my heart beat! This was such a wonderful experience to read. I love the chemistry between the characters as it developed consistently through out the piece. Thank you Pipes for making these characters show their struggles and how to work through it.

I absolutely loved this play! It was an interesting look into the struggles lgbtq+ youth can go through while trying to find their place, even in love and friendship.

I really appreciated this piece. It can reach an audience to understand and sympathize with people who are non conforming. It also brings awareness in a dynamic and layered way.

This was such a great read! The exploration of gender was realistic, and the relationship between Melanie and Shaun was very dynamic.

What a great representation of characters who have so much to them. There are no one dimensional elements in this play. Every aspect of the play is so layered that it creates a true picture of life. This subject matter is not easy and Pipes handles it well, creating a real story between two real characters.

What a wonderful play, the characters feel so amazingly real and justified in each of their actions. I particularly enjoyed how Pipes dealt with a character's biases about another LBGT character, treating it as a flaw that doesn't make the character an evil stereotype but rather a person that is acting emotionally due to the world around them. Pipes deals with a heavy subject which, in the hands of another playwright, would reduce the human element of it. Wonderful
