  • Ross Tedford Kendall: Stiletto Envy

A poignant little play about how one is perceived vs how one feels inside, and the challenge that can present to a relationship, especially longstanding ones. The playwright doesn't provide the characters with easy answers, and instead leaves a conclusion that rings true and hits hard with emotion.

Wow! This was really something, and it addressed some genuine issues I feel alot of LGBTQIA+ individuals go through. I think it really highlights how being part of our community doesn't mean we perfectly fill these molds that society thinks we should. It really captures the fluidity of identity/sexuality, and I think that is so important. Wonderful job!

  • Imogene Daily: Stiletto Envy

This is a very real, very plausible, show. The two bring their needs together in this moment, and, when the show resolves, they're left without satisfaction. Pipes leaves the true resolution open to interpretation in a manner that lends itself to imagination.

  • Mckynzie Bartee: Stiletto Envy

I enjoyed that this play was about something that people don't like to talk about. It embodied the feelings that occur when something this serious comes to light in high school. I also enjoyed being able to see queer relationships, or potential relationships different than my own.

  • Robert Lira: Stiletto Envy

It's a play that delves into the notions of what human sexuality means and how that can affect relationships. And it does so with an familiar situation that some audience members will relate to, me included, growing up, the notions of sexuality being more than just "Straight" was a concept I had to learn, and I shared similar ideas about it as our protagonist Melanie. In that sense, this play presents a current day aspect of sexuality accurately, sprinkled in with a comedic edge and a good bit of heart.

  • Bella Luna Bauman: Stiletto Envy

I loved reading this Stiletto Envy is a great coming of age story that focuses on love, and gender identity. The character's where one of my favorite things within the text for the reason that their past informs their future in a very realistic way. Through this their relationship was able take shape making Shaun and Melanie relatable people.

This was a cute little sweet little funny little play, and I'd argue an important one at that. Human sexuality and gender expression are so weird and fluid, and while it really doesn't often make that much sense, we know how we feel. And I know this play will make you feel good.

I had so much fun reading this! I love how you established the character's relationships with each other and then allowed us to see the complexities between them. Also, love the conversation surrounding misconceptions of gender identity and sexuality.

This play is so so charming and sweet, and it really captures the frustration that can come from other people's misunderstandings of queer identity.

A great way to implement the LGBQT community and even define a role. Love is love and Shaun and Melanie have that for each other. This story gave a nice backstory of their relationship that ties to their lives now.
