  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Miss Diagnosed

This play is so relatable and real. Having lived most of my life undiagnosed with autism, it can be frustrating not to be believed by actual professionals because there is so much bias in the system. Thank you Kyle Smith for tackling this subject in such an easily producible, moving play!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Mother Teresa is a Fraud

Wow, so much happening in these three scenes, and I think there is a lot that is fraudulent going on that moves under the surface of the situation. The fraudulent parts of Louis for not standing up to his friends or speaking the truth to his girlfriend or being his true self! Mother Teresa isn't the only fraud here, and yet youth gets a pass - it's hard not to be a fraud in an unsafe world. Beautiful work.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Wonder

Such a marvelously theatrical and moving play! The Wonder has so much to recommend it as a spooky and fascinating mystery of the beyond, but what moved me so much was the idea of how we could possibly reach out to once more spend time with our dead loved ones. Scary and emotional. Beautiful work!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: "the rest of your life"

Ooph, this play is a fascinating study in how (not) to move forward after a terrible tragedy when no one will punish you for what you did by accident. Lawing structures the play with the past at the end, when we know what's about to happen to these unsuspecting young men with their lives ahead of them. I would love to see it staged.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Last White Bastion of Hate Wishes you a Happy Thanksging from their Table to Yours

    A marvelous fantasy!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: murmurs

This is such a great and wondrous event, and I love the discomfort and the awkwardness that Sickles captures in every line leading up to it. He has created so much palpable tension with so much skill and understanding that I care deeply for these two young men struggling so hard with so much inside. A beautiful truth that will lead to untold daring.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Milk and Gall

A wonderfully funny play about becoming a mother on the eve of the election and having to live in dystopian Trump-world while nursing an infant. Hard as it is to become a mother, it must have been hellish to do so in the late fall of 2016. This play reveals so many truths about birth and mothering in such an honest yet comic way.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Help! I'm Trapped in a Monologue Written by Matthew Weaver!

Charming and sweet, but do I detect some menace underneath? Matthew Weaver does a beautiful job with this meta mega-fun word salad. Delicious!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Real Talk

A very funny short play! When Annie and Becca get together to commiserate their lack of hetero-sex-lives, making out with each other seems like the perfect solution. What a great concept for a memorable festival play! Very real dialogue.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Just a Bus Driver, a 10-minute play

Susan MIddaugh does a great job of creating and ratcheting up the tension in this short play. Just a Bus Driver is a great look at an essential worker doing his best on a tough night, probably one he won't forget any time soon, and yet he never gives up. A tribute.
