  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Daniel Prillaman Really Likes Kittens

Super fun and funny and then wonderfully bizarre. I love that Steven G. Martin is letting the NPX community inspire him and sharing his inspiration in the form of strange plays with us all, since we all love strange plays! I put Scott Mullen in one of mine, so I must say I find this community to be a constant source of inspiration, and I am glad to see I am not alone which is the point of it all.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: I HATE SHAKESPEARE

I love Gina Femia's work so much! This is no exception. Raw, vulnerable, exposed and open in a beautiful, moving play that is funny at times and heartbreaking too. She's the best!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Casting

This is a terrible truth that women have known for millenia made dramatic and visible for everyone here in Floyd-Priskorn's wonderfully astute piece. I love the audience plants! I love that it just keeps happening - I mean it seems to be repeating itself into infinity - because it feels as if it does - even though we all know better.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Cracked Slipper

I love new versions of old tales, and this one is a hoot! The prince is very likable. And the monologue would be perfect for a young man to perform. We need more of these!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Petrified Forest

A great ghost story! Feels so believable! Would be a perfect piece for any Halloween festival.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: SPACE ALIEN KID: A BIRTHDAY PLANNING MONOLOGUE

So many of us feel exactly like this SPACE ALIEN KID created by the marvelous monologue-maker Asher Wyndham (until we discover theatre, that is). So this monologue is completely relatable! It would be awesome for anyone to perform, a moving, exciting, funny and sweet piece!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Mockingbird's Nest

Bailey puts a public domain song to great use here in The Mockingbird's Nest where nothing is as it seems to be, but isn't that exactly like life? Bailey uses a light touch to give us clues throughout the text as to what's really going on, and audiences will love making the discoveries he wants us to make. A truly original piece!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Mother Load

Leff has me at the start with Athena raising and lowering the warriors with her arms - this would be so cool to see staged! I love that Ortrera is there so the warriors are not all men. A really funny, action-packed piece!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Slaying Holofernes

Wonderfully theatrical and beautifully written, Slaying Holofernes is a play that must be staged. The characters are fascinating and deeply drawn both from history and from today's ongoing concerns for equity, parity and basic fairness, and this play is exactly what we need to be producing on our stages to move us all forward to a better future. So moving and involving and true!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: KAYLA DUNN: A MONOLOGUE

Fabulous work! The language is so clear and specific and gives us such a great window into this character's internal landscape while also telling us the story through a highly theatrical sensibility. Wyndham captures the mindstorm of this catastrophe in brilliant ways. What a great role he's created!
