  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: I DREAM BEFORE I TAKE THE STAND

What a stunning and necessary play! I love it! It will unfortunately always be completely contemporary and timely and brilliant. It is also something directors will all love to direct. Forever. It is absolutely compelling and intense. It is an instant classic that should be done everywhere all the time. We live in a barbaric world. This is better than Kafka.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: After Jane

"Being seen is not the same as being looked at." (My favorite line.) After Jane is a fun look at history that would be a wonderful show for any young cast to play! 3/4 of the way in it screeches into the present using the history, very Caryl Churchill, and Strayer pulls it off brilliantly. I enjoyed the early touches of the different periods from the opening that will be so much fun for the designers. I also really enjoyed the women doing the kiss-initiating. Thank you for this!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: A House by the Side of the Road - Seven Short Plays About a Family

These 7 short plays are tearjerkers. Philip Middleton Williams has made the choice to show us the moment of truth-telling, and it's quite moving. Well done.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Unspoken New York Treaty

Wonderful, relatable and inspiring! I love New and York and the city that we are. As a NYer I identify and want more.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: How We Survived

A gem of a play! I knew from the first page that it would break my heart, and it does. The story is poignant and moving, and David-Sax's dramaturgical instincts are spot on! There are beautiful moments of romance and dancing and intergenerational family relationships filled with love. There is a humanity to this telling that makes us all the better for having read it. I hope it is produced soon and often!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION, A Play for Videoconference

Discovering this play on my computer in my to-read file, even though it's blinded, I knew instantly it was written by Rachael Carnes and strapped myself in for the wild ride! Thrilling and completely full of the strangeness I've come to expect and the joy that makes Carnes's work so much fun to read. And because it's a zoom play, I believe that one day I'll have the pleasure of actually seeing it performed!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Blursed

Adorbs! I love the language and the characters are all hysterical. It makes me want to write a companion play called Curessed. Inspiring!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Above the Fold

Zaffarano has written a compelling newpaper/courtroom drama with theatricality and flair. Above the Fold has good roles for women. The period nature of the piece says a lot today about fake news but also about morality and how greed and ambition can blind us. But there is also a subplot about love that steals the show. And the ending is brilliant and done with great skill.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Moreno

From start to finish, we are in great hands with Wilkins providing strong theatricality and an immense facility with language. Wonderful work! It should be produced as soon as possible!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: woman: revised

How I love this play! So much I wish I wrote it. woman:revised is funny and conceptual but also so true and real and it inspires me to write a response. How inventive and thought-provoking! How shrewd and salty! Imaginative and theatrical, a one-act with wonderful roles that would be a blast to cast!
