  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: WHAT HAPPENED IN THE WHITE HOUSE LAST NIGHT

Hilarious! But I lost it completely when the female characters started talking! Perfect!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Cobbler

A moving play about siblings that could be a metaphor for how responsible we are for each other and the nature of family. So much of this is laugh out loud and the rest of it is incredibly smart and sweet.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Thin Ice

I am such a fan of women's figure skating I had to read this, and it's fabulous! The competition is fierce, and their awareness of the cameras of the world provides so much dimension in terms of how women are on display and how that alone raises the stakes inordinately, just like real life! With glitter and sparkles!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Webster's Bitch (Full-Length)

More of what I loved in the short version of this play, now new and improved and still funny as all get-out!!! This play, and Bircher's attention to language in all of its variations, is highly enjoyable and should be produced repeatedly!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Crash Test Donuts

Wonderfully fun! This monologue could be performed by anyone and is filled with really clear visual hilarity. I appreciate the quirky nature of the humor that comes directly from the sharply drawn character.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Class of 2021

THIS! The Class of 2021 is my son's class, so I am an expert on the 17 and 3/4 year old young men who don't want to wear their masks, and this is such a wonderful play about this moment and how hard it is, especially for seniors! Hageman does a beautiful job making all of this very real and hard - just like it really is. That's called verisimilitude, and she's got that going on, plus it's an emotionally moving play that works. READ and PRODUCE!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Participants/Take the Ticket (a monologue)

Clear as a bell. Star Finch has a voice I find compelling and honest, and I hope to read more of her work. Well done.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Textual Abuse

Hilarious! And I am particularly fond of the way Sansone-Braff uses Siri to help those of us who are texting-illiterates understand the lingo. Great use of language! Great stakes! This is textbook excellent 10-minute play escalation to climax and consequences, and I loved every page.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Biden's America

Matthew Weaver has gone through a seismic shift with his work and his approach and maybe even more than that. Biden's America is not a play about kissing! Matthew Weaver has moved on! Biden's America is about making out! A huge shift for America and a great advance for Weaver! This is such a relevant play this moment - it is exactly on point, a perfect bull's eye! This challenge has been met! Biden's America is a shining new example of the joy we're all feeling today! Thank you Matthew! Thank you America!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: BINDERS

Genius play for the climate and so persistently relevant to Covid. Who isn't ready to take a rocket-ship to anywhere! It is funny and absurd in a beautifully felt way, and there are lines in this play that only Carnes could write that just kill me! Brilliant non-sequiturs! So character-based and quirky and grounded in true human need. I love this play! I'm going to read it again now. You should too!
