  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Two Artists Trying to Pay Their Bill

This play is so charming, it had me smiling from ear to ear! It's also true, funny, and would be awesome to see staged! so glad to hear it's getting published! May it have a long life on the boards and pay many royalties so Wang and Chen can eat out as often as they want!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Our Dear Dead Drug Lord

I just saw the WP Theatre production of this play and Holy Smokes it's hot! It's fabulous! And it is hugely inspiring! A standing ovation for Ms. Scheer who brings these four teenage girls to life and dramatizes their traumas, suspicions, fears and dreams in a fierce and intense play - with a wonderful dance sequence - that stole my heart!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: THE PLATYPODES

Wyndham works in such theatrical ways here! It's a great script to read for putting life onstage while still keeping it fresh and amazing! I love the characters because I really want to root for them. I love VITO because he's always in the thick of it, and his emotional life is so public! What an incredible character he is! And the female protagonist never gives up. There is no better time than now for a play that addresses these issues!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: A MAP OF DOUBT AND RESCUE

A stunning play of enormous scope that fills me with nostalgia for the 20th Century, Miller's play is simultaneously funny, poignant, moving and invigoratingly exciting. Cameras capturing what we constantly lose. And Anne Frank and young girls and a film being shot and shown. I love the dramaturgical resonances in the role doubling. The people who pop in to the screening room! The widow of Ionesco!!! Why isn't it onstage running forever in a continuous loop? I want to keep reading it so that its secrets will continue to rise to the top. FASCINATING!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Ordeal of Water

Here is a fable for our time, a time when women's lives are tested daily, a time when we might think we live in an educated, civilized first world nation, but we - women - live in a nightmare that often feels like being locked in the cargo hold of a ship headed to China, and no one can hear us scream. The Ordeal of Water is a wonderfully visceral experience that I hope I get to see onstage. The sooner the better.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Snowmaker

The gorgeous language in this play pulls me right in. The stakes are so high, and it's impossible to know what's true and what isn't which is intentional on Merilo's part and leads to the intensity of this drama. The world is so real, I feel as if I can touch it, taste it and smell the cold snow. A portrait of the world today condensed as in highly concentrated, and I highly recommend it!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: PAPER DOLLS

Great roles for older women in this sweet bridal comedy, PAPER DOLLS. I love the ending! I was rooting for it! But I didn't think it would really happen - thank you Laurie Allen - for going there! This will be a hit in any short play festival!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: 3 Echoes

Chikazunga does a great job of distilling an enormous amount of story and grief into a one act that is filled with subtext and depth. The disappeared and dying offstage characters and their stories drive the 3 well-drawn characters onstage. It's a lot to unpack and makes for great roles for women.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Gravediggers Union

Really enjoyed the characters in all their quirkiness and specificity. The play is filled with really great writing and moments that feel true. Surprising and funny, and the sociopolitical aspects of the play - workers digging holes, and the corporate issues the play raises - all of the weaving it takes to manage this without talking down to us is well done. A powerful piece!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Daughters

Wow! I am in love with this play, and I want to move in with it tonight! From the 1950s to 2015 there are seismic shifts that register experientially now thanks to this play. The inklings of potential matches are so hot, so wished for, I could not put this play down for a moment. I also loved the use of music and who can resist a wet tshirt contest? I would love to see this staged! Kudos!
