  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Reading Babar in 2070

Colonialism, Extinction, Apathy, Anomie - Bublitz tackles the hard stuff here with great empathy, and it's fascinating, entertaining and wonderful. This'll get an audience to consider how our actions today will be seen by the future. Adopt an elephant today!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Excavation of Mary Anning

I must jump on the bandwagon and shout how much I adore this play! Not only for its humor, fabulously drawn characters and theatricality which it has in abundance, but also for its history and science both illuminated in most marvelous ways so that we can all appreciate how important they are! And while I knew the story of the lucky hammer and read with anticipation, the ending is immensely satisfying.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Donna Orbits the Moon

Such a beautiful, moving play! I have nothing but praise for this wonderful piece of dramatic writing. It's funny, with its specificity and its world; it's dramatic with its out-of-this-world theatrical imagination; and it's incredibly moving in its depiction of a grief that cannot be met. Thank you for this play!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: In Dreams

This is the kind of play I think will be different every time it is produced - that there are no two directors who would ever see this play the same way - and I think that is one of its great strengths! It is open to so much interpretation, just like dreams themselves! The piece feels dreamlike, almost as if the CHILD (implied by the characters MOM & DAD) is dreaming it. FASCINATING play! Read it! Direct it your way!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Great Fish & Jonah

I love a good bible adaptation, and Weaver is such a from-the-heart kind of writer with every nuance and moment fleshed out into feeling states, he allows us all to experience the magic of this incredible story. Jonah in avoidance at the top has to come to terms with his mission. A very human story, and Weaver takes us on a Whale (great fish) of a ride!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Insidious Impact of Anton

I've been meaning to read this play for ages, and I'm so glad I finally did! Hilder is masterful with his fourth wall breaking - I love it! He creates an intimacy with the audience that raises the stakes of the action throughout the play in an honestly moving way. I also love Anton's language and charm. This is theatrically marvelous, sweet but never saccharine, and filled with big ideas to ponder!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: BLANK GAY PROFILE: A MONOLOGUE

Here is a tremendous monologue, a play in and of itself, filled with longing! A great challenge for an actor. A journey of such pathos and need, and I especially love the existential question mark and a few of the other salient details, all of the other details in fact. Brilliant and moving! One of the most human pieces I've ever read.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Spite Check

Fascinating and mysterious! Loaded with subtext and codes. Would be wonderful for actors to dig into. Boyle has crafted an enigma with all sorts of clues to keep me guessing! Well done!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Inez Cupcakes Starring in: "Math Problems"

Here a positive (what would be seen as a strength) is shown as the negative it becomes through the lens of other children, so that we can all understand how a good thing can hurt. It's eye-opening and so true and so digestible for students! A very smart play for young people!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: RIPPLE

Hilarious meta-theatrical play! Whether it's a metaphor for human connection or a deep exploration of the limits of humanity or just weird and silly fun, I adore this strange concoction Ms. Carnes has dreamed up all the way to the link for the sound cue at the end!
