  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Smile, Baby

A very perfect, very short play! Nothing else needs to be said. Feminist AF! Thank you Ms. Haas! Heart Emoji!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Elephant and the Light in Claire's Suitcase

I highly recommend this play if you're looking for plays that offer images, language and ways to work with repetition. This makes me aware of how much I want for Claire. A poignant piece about aging and memory loss at the end of the light. There is a great amount of patience and generosity of heart here that seeps from the play to us.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Door Was Open

A marvel of a parable for all ages! I happen to love Remedios Varo (and Lenora Carrington's work too) so I had to take a peek into this fascinating world, and it is exactly like being inside one of Varo's paintings! Kudos to Davis whose work is filled with such beauty and vision.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Mothers

Mothers dares to tell the truth about the real experience of mothering and what a vicious competitive racist sexist classist war it is, and it does so in a brilliantly engaging way that exposes the horror bit by anxious bit. Read it! Produce it! And know that little by little women are beginning to fill in the blanks left by the patriarchal system of female erasure - we will be known!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Sock Puppet Fetish Noir

Super funny theatrical weirdness ensues when Jane goes looking for her missing socks! I love absurdity and this short play doesn't skimp on the absurd levels to which it will go to find humor and drama! Seriously enjoyable!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Subtle, Sublime Transformation of Benny V.

Benny V. is adorable in his bumbling way, and his transformation feels so real and is so earned, I root for him throughout this earnest exploration into his used-up should-have-expired life until he allows himself to be changed! The world of this play holds so much wonder and awe that I am charmed, my impatience put on hold, my empathy stretched, and my heart warmed!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Rules [an immersive 1-minute play]

I am always interested in immersive, and this is a great example of immersive playmaking! WOW! Martin does a great job with stakes and intensity in this brief but terrifying experiential piece.

Hamlet will forever be gay to me now, and I love this play for that! So wonderfully funny and real and true!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Craigslisted

Bohannon's fresh take on the demonization of women in the new world of social media is delightful, dark and infuriating! Of course this is how it goes when a young woman dares to try to help herself in the new online economy. Even her friends have issues with it! I love the ads and the blog and how it surprises me often with twists I didn't expect. Free Chastity!
