  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: INSERT TOKEN

Wonderfully demonic piece of theatre that should give us all pause. As a luddite who rarely bothers with tech, I LOVE the way Burdick continues to raise the stakes and the tension in this very funny short!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: What we need at the end of the day…

A GEM of a short play! A beautiful understanding of space and how hard it is for these two siblings to be in the same room at this moment. And he lets his characters go all the way emotionally. Polak calls attention to the doors as thresholds, and I can feel the power they hold for both characters from the very beginning so that the ending holds the power it does. Wonderful dialogue that provides a great understanding of the entire family life they lived through and the pain that has brought them to this moment.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: WORLD CLASSIC

This is a beautiful play filled with the lives of this Puerto Rican family assimilating into the US so fast the older generation has whiplash and the younger generation would throw themselves into the US without thinking of what they might lose. They are even bleaching their hair blonde! I love the image of the US team jersey over the PR jersey. The issues of identity are so well-rendered, and the dialogue is quick and filled with sharp wit and so much love.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Bondage

The poetic language and haunting rhythms move this play to its brutal and necessary climax with aplomb! Finch captures both the excitement and terror of puberty in a world that commodifies female flesh, and the intersectionality of the play sings. I love the scene where the master tries to tell the slave how he understands her. What a wonderfully theatrical vise of a play!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: TEXT, a Soundscape Play

Asher Wyndham is right! This is a brilliant play! My favorite part is the airhorn. The silencing of the birds is particularly chilling. Read, produce, repeat!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: CLOCK

I really love this strange and wondrous piece about time and mortality! A director could really play with this! So. Much. Fun! Plus dark and weird. Awesome!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: What About Bismarck

These (dark) days, when a playwright takes the time to mention Yemen (even out of context) I have to respect her, because Yemen needs to be spoken often as much as possible. This is a funny play, and it mentions Yemen a lot. Kudos!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Small Talk

Very dark comedy. Small Talk makes us look at the stupid ways we don't communicate with each other when we need to connect the most! It would be a lot of fun to see on its feet!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Breaking the Shakespeare Code

This is a theatre-lovers play that offers actors so much to enjoy and explore especially the process of acting itself! Great roles! Great drama! Great simplicity in the needs of the production! Minigan is spot on with his depiction of faculty drama, and he is superb at giving us hints into the inner emotional turmoils of his characters. The twists and turns come from character so it never feels plotted. This play can and should be done anywhere for the love of the Bard and the boards!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Janie Wants A Dog

Such a great play for this moment! But this "moment" is not going away, so produce this play forever! People have all sorts of ideas about preteen girls, and this play provides us with such wonderful characters in a dramatic situation that could happen to anyone at any moment. PTSD is real and happening to many of us; watching how Janie and her moms struggle with it is tonic for our collective souls.
