  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Reporter Girl

Well-written generational story about how to hold a family together and honor the dead while entertaining us with the creative mind of Dale Messick who created Brenda Starr Reporter. The period scenes from the 40s are delightful, and Rohrman does a good job with the present day struggle to preserve her grandmother's legacy. A delightfully theatrical biography/docudrama!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: BROAD CHANNEL

A fascinating and relevant play that deals with a family in decline reaching out to save themselves, pinning their last hopes on something that has always been there but probably isn't rightfully theirs. Bosley creates complex characters - these would be wonderful roles to play!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Wooden Heart

Szymkowicz is so good at creating entire worlds that he fills with characters I want to know and spend time with. Here in this fable/romance I fall in love with them all - even the wolf! But beyond the romance, it feels to me to be a play about art and craftsmanship, and I adore the apprentices! There is so much room inside to play - I would think directors should be clamoring to do this!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: You Are The Blood

Complex characters, strong journey toward healing, and a lot of laughs - what more could you want? Theatrical Drama! Wonderful use of language! Epistolary (but only sometimes)! Would be wonderful to stage! Is so exciting I can't stop using exclamation points! !!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Portrait of the Artist from the Perspective of his Pears, or Luscious Butts

One of the best last lines ever written! This is a very funny, very short, delicious play!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: URGES!

Very funny play with a great use of language that reveals so much about these characters and what they have to do to find satisfaction while still trying to each remain married (to other people) and to uphold the laws of their church so that they end up becoming quite farcical! Delicious!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: How to Kill a Caribou

2 meaty roles for 2 strong female characters! This is an exciting play about an aging female explorer and - no bones about it - an exciting drama!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Cambodian Rock Band

I love the humor, and the relationship between the Father and the Daughter at the core of this brilliant and heartbreaking work. Rock on!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: PRACTICE

Such real characters who could be people down the block! I love all the menstrual fear that young women go through getting demystified here and how ironic it is that young women have to figure everything out for ourselves. Practice is a great title for a play that offers up so much wisdom!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: GENTRIFIED - METAPHOR OF THE DRUMS

First this play is hilarious. Then this play is relevant and deep. And finally this play is seriously magically wonderfully theatrical and fabulous! I saw a marvelous reading of this play in Harlem, and it rocked the packed house! I can't wait to see it produced!
