  • Molly Wagner: Cyclone and the Pig-Faced Lady

This play is an exciting and powerful story about a comic book creator's search for her identity and the world that she has built. Each character is rich and enticing with incredible roles for actresses. I love the way the imaginative world pulls us back just from the edge of a devastating time in America's history, I feel like I was completely transported. The place and time are so specific that New York itself and Coney Island specifically, felt like their own characters. I would love to see a production of this show!

  • Molly Wagner: Winter Harbor

A hauntingly beautiful piece that displays the isolation and loneliness of life within a lighthouse. At the heart of the play is Elizabeth who is simultaneously mourning her husband, her freedom, and the life that they imagined together. However, the other characters, such as Clara and JB, are also equally with their own fears, suspicions, and desires. I am so glad I was able to see a presentation of this piece during the MAC virtual one-acts festival. This is a story that will stay with you!

  • Molly Wagner: The Alligator Gospels

Oh man, this play is great! The characters are incredible and the dialogue is funny, smart, and realistic. It would be so much fun to play any of these roles. Just when I thought I knew where the story was going another twist popped up. Would love to see this produced or work on it in some capacity!

  • Molly Wagner: Stockholm Reunion

What I love the most about Max's plays is his ability to place incredibly human and realistic characters into strange and unexpected situations. Despite the incredibly high stakes, the small quirky nuances always find their way into the room, immediately drawing you in. Stockholm Reunion subverts the "Friends Reuniting for a Cabin Weekend" trope into a play that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

  • Molly Wagner: Hotter Than Egypt

A great play about complex relationships and desires. I appreciated getting to see the different viewpoints of Egypt and discovering what is needed to build a life.

  • Molly Wagner: Hallmark Doesn't Make Cards for Us

Oh man. I felt this play so hard - all within ten pages! An authentic and heart-breaking look at the mother-daughter relationships that are so prevalent but rarely explored in a way that isn't cripplingly traumatic.
