A beautiful and heartbreaking story of seeking out the thing we crave the most and yet are no longer allowed to have. Lovely!

  • Molly Wagner: THIS HAPPENED ONCE AT THE ROMANCE DEPOT OFF THE 1-87 IN WESTCHESTER

Oh man. I knew I was going to be in trouble with a description like "He's Kinda plain and there's nothing particularly striking (or Romantic!) about him." But oh man. I adored this play. Beth's monologue at the end (all of them really) really got me. I am so jealous of the actors that get to bring these characters to life.

I loved the way this story unfolded with questions being posed and then answered at just the right moments!

The characters drew me in immediatley and I was pulled in by their honesty and vulnerability as they discussed true acceptance and the poster of acceptance. I was not expecting the twists but I am oh so happy with how the ending tied up. The setting also felt like a character in itself, which I really enjoyed. So fun!

I am so happy that I read this play now, considering everything that is happening in the world. Max perfectly captures the conversations and things we grasp on to when we aren't entirely sure what else to do. It is so surreal hearing these characters having conversations that are now so familiar. The comfort of the humanity in the face of uncertainty was exactly what I needed!

These characters are great - with enough history to know all of the ins and outs of each other and a way. John has done a great job of creating a relationship where these two characters know each other so deeply that they know the right ways to hurt and heal one another. Some really fun monologues for actresses in their twenties, too!

Such a fun play about the chaos that ensues the night before a major holiday. As they grapple with the dilemma at hand the two characters hilariously navigate what it is to integrate relatives into your relationship.

Chelsea does an incredible job of creating characters that keep you on the edge of your seat - raising the stakes as truths are revealed in this dystopian thriller because you are really hoping these people find the answers they are looking for.
