A stunning performance art/monologue piece that makes so much sense as a commentary on the rise of Trump. Made me want to look up the historical accounts this is based on. I would have paid a lot more attention when we covered Ancient Rome in social studies if the lessons were told through the lens of Salem.

I'm in complete awe of how Gerardo creates a world in this play that feels foreign and yet very believable. The made up language and giving just enough information to help us know what's going on is absolutely brilliant.

This is a very "inside-baseball", theatre nerd premise but Barbot is able to make it a story about identity, the current state of Puerto Rico and love at first sight. It goes to some deep places but leaves you with a warm and fuzzy feeling too. Also....ONE OF THE CHARACTERS IS A DRAMATURG!!!!!
