Guest looks at the past and present to draw some fascinating parallels and thought provoking questions about the nature of revolution. Is violence the answer? When is being "peaceful" no longer helpful? This ensemble of characters morphs across time to give us glimpses into the history of oppression as part of the human race and they leave us with so much to chew on after the curtain falls. Guest's gift of storytelling as social change is on full display here and I hope this play gets produced everywhere.

Great use of the Zoom platform in this short play that feels so cathartic in this time of frustration and anxiety. Love how this piece is able to tackle so many common concerns for artists today in such a short time.

Read the epilogue to see the numbers behind how AIDS ravages communities of Black gay men and how our government still could care less. Guest gives a face and voice to those statistics by inviting us into this wake. By using the the medium of drag we are asked to investigate the concept in truth. Whether or not we know what's true or not by the end of this play is up for debate. What is true is that unless we do something we will keep losing brilliant humans like Courtney/Anthony. Afro-surrealism is a genre I was not very familiar with before this play but now I am dying to read more work that falls under this categorization. This is a truly unique look at the the institution of slavery and the relationships between White and Black women that speaks to our current moment so deeply. The poetry and music of the dialogue makes this a feast for actors and I can't wait for the day I get to hear this play live. Finch brilliantly uses the past to help us see the damage White women still inflict on Black women.

This play is soooo wacky and I wouldn't want it any other way!!!! It's a celebration of an untold story in history, theatre of the Greeks and the masterpiece that is ROCKY HORROR. This play should not make sense but it perfectly does and I hope we get more plays like this that find innovative ways to highlight marginalized folx on our stages.

This is one of the best sci-fi plays that I've ever read. Finch's skill at world-building is on fully display here in how they give us just enough to understand the gist of how this future landscape works without bogging us down with exposition. Black women, trans folx and sex workers are often excluded from these kinds of narratives or included only as 2 dimensional pieces of set dressing. Finch has written a story about a future world that centers on those so often left out and I hope to read more plays as stunning as this one.

So much to unpack in this play. Lynett has done a great job at asking big questions and tacking urgent themes in a story that feels so personal and intimate.

A stunning piece of solo storytelling. The specificity is what is so compelling in this monologue that follows the rage inside this playwright.

Wow what a punch in the gut this play is. Keller is asking questions that we need to be having here. I really hope there are theatres out there brave enought to produce a piece like this.

I absoulutely adored this play!! Not only is the subject matter unlike anything I've seen depicted onstage but I don't think I've ever seen a character like Brooke onstage before. A character that is so in control of her body. We need more characters like this. Great theatre has a duty to shine a light on stories that are too often pushed into the shadows. Its should be a place where people can see themselves reflected and know they are not alone. This play is really great theatre.
