This play is amazing!!! The writer has a gift for crafting relevant stories in the world of a specific genre. Genius to portray immigration as some kind of other-worldly, grotesque monster. I really felt for all of these characters as I got to know the different ways their lives relate to the border. This play could not be more relevant to the times we are living in. The playwrights has created a gift to directors, actors and designers. Please produce this play!!!

  • Shaun Leisher: Staff Meal

A nice, little peek into the lives of three restaurant co-workers. Loved how Kaydo just throws us into this world and lets us just keep up with the conversation. The dialogue felt so real and the gripes these three have really took me back to my time as a restaurant employee. I loved getting to spend time with these three.

  • Shaun Leisher: Rut

I really enjoyed this play. Loved the tone and setting of the piece. So much is said in what is left unsaid. Two people just trying to survive until they see it all as something futile. Loved the use of props in this play. This piece has a lot to say about what is fair and how we are remembered in this life. Would love to direct this someday.

  • Shaun Leisher: I Was A Teenage Incel

A play about fathers and sons with a futuristic twist. Loved the dialogue in this play as a father relives his days as an incel to his son that would rather be anywhere else. Hysterical piece about how different generations can be. Very funny.

  • Shaun Leisher: Warm Re*ards

A really fun short play about the absurdity of coporate culture. Loved the debate about David Duchovny and Aaron Eckhart. This play would be a hoot to perform.

  • Shaun Leisher: We Pump Your Gas in Jersey

I really love plays about the bonds that are formed by working-class people that only know each other from their job. This is such an absurd play where characters repeat themselves and don't always make sense. These characters are so fun and I hope they all find the life they were meant for. A set designer could have a lot of fun with this play. Declet has a real gift with dialogue in this play. I could listen to these characters talk forever. I really hope this play gets a production soon

  • Shaun Leisher: Victorian Vape

I really loved this play. At a time where trans people are so much under attack, it was refreshing to read this play about a complicated trans woman just trying to figure out their place in the world. This play is about memory. Everyone remembers things differently. It's obvious when it comes to the elderly characters but even the youth-filled Carey finds herself distorting things that she did in the past. She finds herself discovering that maybe who really was was always there.

  • Shaun Leisher: Catacombs

A beautiful play about love that transcends times. I can't wait to see what a lighting and sound designer can do with the various settings. Love that this play can be done with really any budget. I was so moved by this play. This is play about knowing oneself. Beau is so confident and sure of who they are. Ari wants that so badly. I think this would be a great piece to work on for a intimacy director in training. So much is said by how these characters touch each other.

  • Shaun Leisher: The Triumphant

A moving portrait of what it's like to be part of LGBT+ community in Egypt. The blending of interviews with ancient literature and pop culture was absolutely brilliant. It was so moving to see how all four of these men hold on to their hope. Hope that they will escape their prison. Hope that they can live freely exactly who they are. Kareem Fahmy is one of the most important artists when it comes to giving voice to the unseen communities of the Middle Ease. Produce this play.

  • Shaun Leisher: Jyoti's Bridge

Wow! I really need to see this play produced. I was moved by the journey Jyoti goes on as she looks back at her life and the regrets she lived through. This play perfectly captures aspects of queer love and discovering one's own identity as it relates to being Indian. I was so moved by the moments where Jyoti and Anirudh both got to make peace with their pasts. Can't wait to see what a lighting and sound designer can do with this play. Proof that the specific is usually the most universal.
