  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Tea Town

A suspenseful, menacing little play. Would be a great addition to any short play festival, especially a horror or sci-fi/alternative reality-themed one!

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Save Hamlet! (a full length play)

A fantastically fun play, perfect for youth actors! I had the pleasure of reading Horatia and so enjoyed it. Teachers and directors need to add this play to their reading lists (and seasons!) immediately!

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Tidal (formerly Renovations)

A beautiful piece about the struggle to let go and move on from the materialistic things we've long collected and invested ourselves in. A reflection on what is truly important that is ripe for analysis and perfect for production.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: failing at a 1-page play festival

A funny little 1 page play about 1 page plays that, somehow, manages to say so much. It helps that Satan is so relatable, but the play's effectiveness is most likely the result of MABEY's excellent, tight execution.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: PRETTY QUEER

This is a phenomenal piece. I had the pleasure of seeing it read and the experience of overhearing Margaret's private call was truly an emotional, visceral one. I felt voyeuristic, and almost ashamed at listening in--and at the same time blessed to get to experience such rawness. Margaret is a woman trapped. She has bottled her bravery, and the audience gets to play witness to the moment she might uncork herself. Stellar.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: A Clue in the Library

So much fun! We need scripts like these now more than ever to remind us as actors and audience members alike how much we can injuect PLAY into our PLAYS, our theatre, and in our lives, even if we've "grown-up." A hilarious script. Well done!

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: a/in/the/of

This play reminded me so much of my own youth, graduations, and sibling comparisons. Feeling overshadowed by momentous events can be rough, and this play captures the anxiety of change as well as the tenderness that can come when two siblings connect and focus on each other amidst the chaos. A great choice for festivals and student actors alike.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: THE OTHER SIDE

A short, moving piece for two actors. I especially like that in many ways, this works as a neutral or open-ended scene, allowing actors and a director to determine the specific circumstances. Depending on the choices, the piece provides interesting and alternative nuances. A great addition to short play festivals!

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Coping with Autumn

I was lucky enough to see a virtual reading of this script and was immediately struck by the depth of the piece and the incorporation of humor in such a dark topic. The journey we take with Autumn and her psyche is both tumultuous and revealing. Highly theatrical, this script would be a joy to stage, and I hope to see it produced in the future!

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Triflers Need Not Apply

As a Hoosier true crime enthusiast, I knew I had to read this play. I ate it up! Part docudrama, part melodrama, this play is a clever, theatrical celebration and condemnation of our salacious love of gossip and scandal. I hope to someday see this produced!
