  • Lee R. Lawing: Moebius Ring

It amazes me that we capture wild animals and enclose them in zoos and aquariums and then get so mad at them when they just behave like . .. .well. . . wild animals. I remember this story and remember how mad I was at the fact that this poor tiger had to be pulled down to satisfy the laws of the jungle . . . I mean, not so human kind.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Lucy and the Statue

What an amazing journey this play is and when I saw what it was about, as heartbreaking a journey as anyone could take with addiction and it's price. There as some beautiful lines in this one. Reward yourself by reading Kokai's Lucy and the Statue.

  • Lee R. Lawing: CHARMING YOGA

We all grew up with notions about how life really worked outside the story books that we read or that were read to us. Charming Yoga is a winner when it comes to dismantling one such fairy tale and rebuilding it into a more realistic existence that would be a keeper for any such "fairy tales redone series" for the modern audience and that offers up an ending that, if not ever-after, certainly is one that allows growth for two human beings who are flawed unlike the gloss of a book cover.

  • Lee R. Lawing: What's in the Box?!

Breezy break-up comedy which engages you from the very start and holds your attention to the very last seconds. Hunt provides such believable characters and the humor is spot on and the last bit will make you jump just a little because you never know what exes are capable of.

  • Lee R. Lawing: THE MATING HABITS OF SHORELINE BIRDS

We've only got one life to live. I love this short play by Lermond which presents such a beautiful ode to owning up to our desires and to not clip our wings too soon or ever. You never know when you'll want to fly just like Phyllis from Philly!

  • Lee R. Lawing: THE WORLD'S WORST THEATERGOER: THE WORLD'S WORST MONOLOGUE

We have all known this person and witnessed them at "The Theater" the ones that act like it's their own living room and we all feel that that they would be better off there instead of near us or around us, but this person took some effort to get to the theater and maybe there is still hope for their metamorphosis after the lights have gone down and back up on the show. For them to be transformed by the magical experience of theater.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Dead White Guys on the Midway

Isn't it always about the dead white guys! I loved this play from the very start. with it's witty dialogue and an age-old debate about morality thrown up for discussion once again in the perfect setting of a carnival midway where everyone is supposed to happy and forget their troubles while they play a game of ring-toss or skeet ball. Richter's piece is one of the best ,and I always enjoy reading his work.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Would You Like To See Some Comedy?

This play says so much in its one minute and from a different approach than I've read or seen before. I love the brevity of the piece the message behind it and you may find yourself laughing which is OK. It's something that we all need to do every once in awhile in an uninhibited way.

  • Lee R. Lawing: HIBERNUS

Saw this beautiful monologue on Dramatic Chaos Productions beautifully read and acted. Winter means so many different things to all of us and I know for me, I'm not the fine of it since moving to where the sun doesn't shine as much as it should, but this monologue points out that regardless I need to appreciate the change and shift of the time with calmness.
