There's not a Martin play that I I've read that I've not enjoyed. This is another one which says so much about us as humans and what we go through almost each and every day with our choices and options to select. Martin's Hero represents us very well and how difficult it is to choose and to move forward once we have, maybe even with pangs of regret about not choosing the right one in end. But as long as live, there will always be other doors to think about and reflect upon which one to open.

Guilt will take its toll on a person in so many ways. Gatton gives us a great ghost story with a punch. Brief, and yet oh so powerful, this is one that needs to be seen on stage as I think there would plenty of screams coming from the audience.

A play that resonates so strongly today as when it's set, sadly. I always wondered what the world could have been like if we could have been allowed to love any race or sex that we could choose without consequence. Who knows what we could have achieved as humans if we had not let religion and race and sex get into our lives so much. Carraway takes us all on an emotional journey, but we come out all the more stronger for it then when we started.
  • Three Characters in Search of They Know Not What

An update on a classic that is very well done in its brief pages. Funny and yet, as Marchant defines it, so much underlying elements of tragedy and drama that it left me wanting more which is always a good feeling when I finish a short play.

This was the play of the day for me and I'm so glad it was. Taught and tight and pitch-perfect in set-up and execution!!!
  • The Short Christmas Dinner

Such a great farce! This play had me from the go with all the rules of what can be talked about which reminds one of most of their family dinners that've experienced or been a part of, but then it gets funnier and funnier as new topics are opened up for grabs and down the rabbit hole we go. Social media has given the holidays and most family events that "Happy Family" syndrome. Bonafede digs down and exposes that most of the experiences are not all that perfect after all.
  • Vive (a one-minute play)
    26 Aug. 2021
One person can make a huge difference. In Vive, we see the actions of one touching another and where there's two, there will soon by four, eight, sixteen, and soon an entire army to incite change, and stand up for what's wrong in this world.

Despite their claim of compassion and love, the church has caused more damage to our world then will ever be known. That it still does so to this day is unforgivable. This meeting between the scientific and religious bodies could be happening today and sadly will continue to happen as long as the church maintains the hold it does over all things that they really should not be involved in.
  • All of the Napkins are Wet (a monologue) (Playing on the Periphery #1)

So funny and such an endearing person in Daphne. She gets my vote for sure! Sickles present so much with this piece and that's no different than anything by him. You think you're going in for one thing and you always end up coming up for air all the more wise.

What a scream! And I would love the New Order brought about Chris and Lucy. I was never a fan of the old one anyway. Packed with surprises and laugh out loud lines that will have you celebrating the holidays in no time!
