Burbano shows off some amazing skills making us empathize with someone we often look down on. We need more stories that challenge us to rethink the way we see certain figures attached to certain people. We also need to be reminded that not everything is as black and white as we'd like it to be.

This is a particularly moving piece focused on two people who are stuck together in an unusual situation. The dialogue is particularly natural and their anxiety is palpable. Looking forward to reading more by Witting!

This is a very beautiful play dealing with the fallout of one mistake. While all parties are still grieving, and their relationships to each other are very different because of their new realities, they're something to be said with how much stronger they all are (even if most of them aren't aware of it). I also love that Ellen could actually be played by a teenager who actually needs a wheelchair as opposed to someone who doesn't need a wheelchair. I hope future productions keep that in mind.

This play is the epitome of an emotional roller coaster. I found myself laughing and empathizing with other characters so much that I kept almost forgetting the reason they were all assembled. I think this nails a lot of the feelings one has from growing up in a toxic environment and trying to make peace with that.

I had the privilege of reading this play a few months back and it stayed with me for days. It's got some very beautiful bones and plays with classicism, gender, and also gives us a bit of an education on matadors that the majority of America probably needs. I'm looking forward to seeing where this script goes.

I saw this play at a festival last year and it was stunning. Kimball's ability to go effortlessly go back and forth time stylish and intoxicating. I love this play because it feels like you're taking a plunge under water, or jumping off of a cliff, in the beginning and that sensation stays with you until the beautiful end. I also love all of the women characters that would typically be roles given to men.

I love Kimball's voice as a writer and I especially love this script. This is a very funny script that I think would be a lot of fun for directors and actors to tackle on stage. I don't want to give anything a way but I nearly dropped my tablet during the major reveal and I think that's an excellent sign that it was unexpected.
  • The Worst Mother in the World

Really good and honest take on motherhood. We need more stories covering the reality of motherhood like this in the media. Quinn does a great job at managing these three very different women and leading us through the each of their own particular battles with their mom and/or daughter.

This is a very haunting tale that doesn't get lost in the legacy of Thomas Jefferson while overlooking the type of man he actually was. It's important to have these types of stories told and to remind people of what this country was really built on. I'd love to see this produced and I also love that it's three generations of black women showing how very little can change over the course of three life times.

This is beautiful. It's complicated while simple, sad and funny, and a just a very delightful read in general. I'd love to see what a production team would come up with for this dynamic duo. I could also see this being a lot of fun in a festival or anthology.
