  • Sharai Bohannon: PARTNER OF —

This is a very haunting tale that doesn't get lost in the legacy of Thomas Jefferson while overlooking the type of man he actually was. It's important to have these types of stories told and to remind people of what this country was really built on. I'd love to see this produced and I also love that it's three generations of black women showing how very little can change over the course of three life times.

  • Sharai Bohannon: The Night Sky (a ten minute play)

This is beautiful. It's complicated while simple, sad and funny, and a just a very delightful read in general. I'd love to see what a production team would come up with for this dynamic duo. I could also see this being a lot of fun in a festival or anthology.

  • Sharai Bohannon: I'll Tell You at Sunrise

I like this one. I'm a sucker for two people bonding under unique circumstances. I'm also a sucker for someone who seems to have so little assisting someone who seems to have more. I found myself hoping they do get to talk about it at sunrise.

  • Sharai Bohannon: Bev.

Femia has made me cry again. This is a very beautiful, magical, and sometimes funny short piece dealing with grief and blame. I'd love to see this produced somewhere. It's also a really great scene for anyone looking for short pieces for three actresses that passes the Bechdel test.

  • Sharai Bohannon: Rip of Skin (monologue - max. 10 min.)

This is incredibly intriguing and I think it would be fun to get on it's feet. Would love to see what different performers bring to this Crow. It paints some very evocative moments that would also be fun for a director to play with.

  • Sharai Bohannon: MARVEL-OUS MONICA; IN WHICH MONICA LEWINSKY IS A SUPERHERO HELL-BENT ON REVENGE

I love the imagery in this play and that it examines the power dynamics that exist in a lot of the #metoo accounts. We need more plays that take a stand and say something to challenge the way we view specific incidents. I also love that Tuft doesn't let our hero completely off of the hook either as Monica is still processing what happened and sometimes sees it differently that the co-ed's situation.

  • Sharai Bohannon: This Floating World

I love the way this play explores privilege (and subconscious biases) but maintains a sort of magical realm. I think Palmquist gives us a protagonist that we find hard to empathize with so that we can appreciate her journey to becoming a better person that much more. Any play with that type of DNA deserves to be produced often.

  • Sharai Bohannon: THE LAST DATE

Very clever play that deserves to be produced in theatres looking for ways to get theatrically involved with the #metoo and #Timesup movement. Important necessary work that breaks the fourth wall with a mission of holding the audience accountable.

  • Sharai Bohannon: Scratching the Surface

I really really love this script. It's tense and creepy and deals with abduction and assault in a way we don't see on stage often. I couldn't put it down and I'm still not sure I've processed all of my emotions after reading it (even though I read it months ago). Looking forward to reading a lot more by Simpson!

  • Sharai Bohannon: Gifts

Super interesting premise. I also love that it's a two-hander with women at Comic Con and that it's unpredictable. This could be a lot of fun to play with for actors and a nice addition to a festival.
