  • When the Dodgers Left Brooklyn

I was in tears reading this beautiful, heartbreaking, uplifting play. D. Lee Miller has written a little play with big questions and, at its core, the deep bond of father-daughter love. With an imagination as wide as heaven, Miller uses theatricality to the nth degree. Bud and Juliet - and Juliet's mom-to-be - will stay in my mind for a long time to come. Please read it - savor it - produce it. Thank you, D. Lee Miller, for this glimpse into the everlife and how the story goes on.
  • Tina at 13
    28 May. 2020
I just want to put my arms around 13-year old Tina and tell her things will get better. Victoria Z. Daly masterfully brings us into the heartbreaking story of a young girl missing her mother and dealing with a grinch of a stepmother. I loved the stuffed cabbage analogy. A gorgeous piece of writing, full of heart, pathos, teen angst and perfectly executed craft. Read it and produce it!
  • Family Visitation (Ten Minute)
    28 May. 2020
I was lucky enough to see this play -twice!- at Theatre Odyssey’s 10- minute play festival. A heartbreaking look at the cruelty of narrow definitions of family and the mindsets that give people permission to discriminate. A play that is both universal in nature and deeply personal- which is the best kind of play. Read it and produce it!
  • Clear Blue Sky
    28 May. 2020
I had the great pleasure of seeing an online reading of this heartfelt play. Heartbreaking, thought-provoking and a must-read. Bruce Karp has written a fresh take on the 9-11 tragedy through the perspective of someone who inadvertently sent those events in motion. Clear Blue Sky will have you in tears and ruminating on how we are all connected. Read it and produce it!
  • Safe Haven: A Video Call Play
    23 May. 2020
A terrifying play to read. I never saw the twist coming and that’s the mark of a master playwright! Deb Hiett masterfully ratchets up the suspense and will have you checking your own doors afterwards. SAFE HAVEN is a perfect play for online Festivals with two strong women characters. Read it and produce it immediately!
  • Hudson's Legacy
    17 May. 2020
I was lucky enough to see the five-minute version of HUDSON'S LEGACY in Center Stage Israel's Online 5-minute play festival. As a Jewish woman with relatives who perished in the Holocaust, I so deeply resonated with this play about the unvarnished truth and how the people we love may be the most misguided when it comes to the story being re-told. Kudos to Steffi Rubin for writing a play with meaning. It will stay with you long after the last word.
  • A Dave with Destiny
    17 May. 2020
I love love love plays with a twist at the very end, and A DAVE WITH DESTINY does not disappoint. Hilarious spoof of 'meeting cute' and a million rom coms. From the title to the (gut) punchline at the end, Dave - and Preuss - make us laugh and wince with recognition. Read it and produce it!
  • The Shortest Long-Distance Relationship in the History of Romance (A One-Character Online Play)
    17 May. 2020
Is Ken Preuss really a teenager masquerading as an adult? What other explanation could there be for how beautifully and authentically he writes for young people? Whatever age he really is, I loved this monologue about a young girl dealing with text-ual miscommunications and being in lockdown. Funny, awkward, sweet. I was lucky enough to see this piece performed live online with Taphouse Theatre - and encourage everyone to read it, watch it, and produce it. Bravo to Ken!
  • Taking Sum Lumps (Online Version)
    17 May. 2020
I was fortunate enough to see the fabulous Theatre Three's online production of TAKING SUM LUMPS. Playwright Ken Preuss ratchets up the ante from first mirror crack to the last. Great fun, and perfect for online theatre. Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who's the most clever playwright of them all? Ken Preuss is on the shortlist! Read it, produce it!
