  • Christopher Soucy: TLC: A Millennial Horror Story

The American Dream is harder and harder to even conceive. What’s was once a rights of passage is not a minefield of compromise and disappointment. Brava Deb for this biting commentary!

  • Christopher Soucy: Faerie Ring

They never tell us about Cinderella’s mother. Or Snow White’s. But in this heartbreaking tale, we may have some inkling as to what might have happened. We want to believe that postpartum depression is some modern affliction, but the truth of life is that it is scary. Inexplicably sorrowful and difficult to endure. Jackie weaves a fairy tale for the lost mothers and their children.

  • Christopher Soucy: Ghost Flushers

There’s just aren’t enough shows that highlight audience participation. Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn has delivered a delightful score full of spooky hijinks and colorful characters. This is a fantastic show that I would love to see performed!

  • Christopher Soucy: I Don't Care

The frustration is real. Too real. Thanks to Joe Swenson for poking a very tender spot in my psyche. Joe has perfectly captured a moment of present day living with a wry eye and a sharp wit. Great short piece!

  • Christopher Soucy: Culling (A Ten-Minute Play)

A painfully accurate depiction of a tragedy in motion. James McLindon has given us a stark look at the conditions of two librarians caught in a political turf war over what books should be available to children in the state of Florida. This play is not about a dystopian future, it is a reflection of present day policies that hint at the loss of not only our freedoms, but our very ability to inform ourselves and our children of the world around us.

  • Christopher Soucy: Beelzebub, Lucifer and Satan Walk Into a Church

How often do our rose-colored memories distract us from the less-than-vibrant present? Miranda Jonte plays the ultimate devil's advocate by giving voice to three devils reveling over their glory days. Some evil deeds carry more weight than others, and in time, even the devil can grow a conscience.

  • Christopher Soucy: The Shittiest Play

I… this… I mean… it… yeah. Okay. Yeah. A sort of damning indictment of an absent god in a time of great misery and despair. But also echoes of being a playwright awaiting submission approval only to get the company’s newsletter in response… or maybe it’s just me… in any case, a solid short piece from Bolduc, who always provides us with the alternative to shittiness.

  • Christopher Soucy: Eleanor Roosevelt's Pudding

As a cooking show fanatic, watching the ghost of Eleanor Roosevelt cook while espousing observations about life, obligations, desires, and a generous helping of bourbon is my idea of perfection. This is a glorious monologue that would be an absolute hoot to see on stage.

  • Christopher Soucy: A Spirited Manor - A Victorian Penny Dreadful

This wonderful penny dreadful play is far from dreadful! It is a delight! Funny, dark, Victorian-y. A pitch perfect grim tale brimming with vibrant theatricality. Any theater would be smart to add it to their season, especially around Halloween!

  • Christopher Soucy: For Richard, for Poorer

You can feel Eddie’s manic panic in your bones! Steve has crafted an anxiety train that doesn’t even stop to take a breath. Joyful or otherwise. I love the juxtaposition of high tension and total calm found in Eddie and Richard. They compliment each other perfectly.
