  • Rachel Bublitz: Girl of Glass

This is an exciting and vivid full length play that sets my imagination into a whirl just reading it off the page. Not only has Kokai given unique and incredible characters for actors to dig into, but the possibilities with every aspect of production are exciting. I want to be a fly on the wall of the production meetings of this play, in the rehearsal rooms, and I would love to see it produced. The theatricality and the possibility of collaboration are immense.

  • Rachel Bublitz: KIKI PINEAPPLE STARRING IN: "SAVING THE WORLD!"

Quite possibly the most adorable play I've ever read. KIKI PINEAPPLE is an amazing protagonist with the best super powers of all. I'd love to see this play performed at my kids school, even better if my kids were in the play! Lots of joy, and like Claudia said, a killer list of character names. Really well done!

  • Rachel Bublitz: The Show Must NOT Go On!

"The Show Must NOT Go On!" is hilarious! I was all in for the situation, the solution, and the surprise turn that solution took. The pacing is also fantastic, as are all the other characters, but for me the Janitor steals the show. Would love to see it produced, it's a ton of fun.

  • Rachel Bublitz: El Loro, El Gato y El Espiritu Santo (or The Parrot, the Cat and the Holy Ghost)

I loved every minute of reading this play! McBurnette-Andronicos captures the craze of childhood, and how much putting kids together to their own devices can make that craze that much crazier. I love the dynamics between the three sisters, and how well that was made clear, I am one of three girls and the specifics were spot on. Great short play.

  • Rachel Bublitz: Suicide Hotline

With a title like SUICIDE HOTLINE you know you're in for a dark play, maybe with a few laughs, but what surprised me most was the heart and humanity in this piece. The ending gave me a little anxiety, but I'm confident Jim, our soon-to-be hero, finds a way.

  • Rachel Bublitz: Mountain Law

MOUNTAIN LAW has gripping and lyrical language. It's a historical piece that lives in immediacy, which I find all great historical scrips must find a way to do. Larson also plays with time in space in beautiful and unexpected ways throughout the story, and gives us three vibrant and complex characters. Very well written, highly recommend!

  • Rachel Bublitz: IN JUST A WHISTLE

Definitely a piece that's begging to be staged, based on poetry, and with so much poetry in its DNA, [IN JUST-] A WHISTLE is short and mesmerizing. With imagery that pulled me back to childhood, and the haunting ever-presence of the "balloon-man" Stout weaves through innocence and gives us hints of it's impending end.

  • Rachel Bublitz: Going In

A mad science play that is both far out and sci-fi, but also looks at gender and sex in an interesting and refreshing way. And it's also mixed with suspense, as you're not sure if they'll be going through with the experiment and what the outcome will/could be.

  • Rachel Bublitz: First Contact

FIRST CONTACT is a wonderful short play that captures those awkward adolescent times beautifully. I loved both of the characters, and I was so impressed with Fitzgerald's ability to pull be into their lives so quickly. I laughed out loud a bunch, and it also pulled on my heart strings. Read this play! And produce it! Really well done.

  • Rachel Bublitz: Amherst, Maine

Wow. AMHERST, MAINE is twisted and dark and I loved the slow unraveling in its seven page story. There are two fantastic parts for actors to dig into, and I can only imagine it would leave its audience on the edge of their seats, as that's where Ford had me from only reading it off the page.
