  • Rachel Bublitz: Vamping

What a great monologue! Burbano mixes the facts and history so well with this amazing character she created that I was transported back to high school and those painful presentations everyone had to deliver. Lola is funny and frank and I'd sign up for more histories given through her perspective in a heartbeat. For sure love the

  • Rachel Bublitz: The Ring

THE RING put such an ache in my heart. I'm so impressed with the scope of life Burbano was able to reach within a ten-minute play. This play absolutely crushes you.

  • Rachel Bublitz: Afterlife

AFTERLIFE is a sparse yet explosive short play that had me wanting so much more. Such a specific and expansive world is created so expertly and quickly, and Ford doesn't hold back on the spooky factor either.

  • Rachel Bublitz: 2 Idiots Walk Out of A Bar (10 min)

An adorable ten-minute that pokes fun at the couple troupes found in Chekhov's work. Both characters in CHEKHOV'S DATE are so well drawn and earnest, and there's a ton of comedy to mine from Rose's well written dialogue.

  • Rachel Bublitz: A List of Some Shit I've Killed

The fantastic mixture of language and myths really excites me in this short by Matt Barbot. A LIST OF SOME SHIT I'VE KILLED is poetic and bold. It looks at masculinity (and often toxic masculinity) through the deeds done through the bow of Heracles to great effect. Really well done.

  • Rachel Bublitz: Tom Petty

Another super funny script by Iraisa Ann Reilly, she has a knack for easy and natural dialogue. TOM PETTY also lives in the same world as the last short of hers I read, THE HEARTBREAKERS, and now I kinda want to read the full-length play version with even more. Great characters too! Everything sucks you in.

  • Rachel Bublitz: The Heartbreakers

Really funny play that draws a beautiful comparison to video games and dating. THE HEARTBREAKERS also nails roommate dynamics, nicely done!

  • Rachel Bublitz: Tinder... Sucka

Hilarious and groovy and wonderful. Everything from the situation, to the mixing of the Blaxplotation genre with the world of today and Tinder, to the characters, to the stage directions are great. Had me laughing out loud more than once. Reading TINDER.... SUCKA tons of images fly off the page and it's clear that Inda Craig-Galván is an incredibly talented writer. Produce this, please!

  • Rachel Bublitz: #yesmeansyes

Consent is sexy! And we need more more more more examples of this across all media. In #yesmeansyes Lashof's stage directions give the reader a clear and precise image and intent, which I believe to be essential for this play and plays like it.

  • Rachel Bublitz: Apollo Flies

An incredibly beautiful short play that captures so well both the ridiculous nature of romance, and the obsession we can develop with characters in the stories we love. Austgen has done so well with the comparisons she brings out in the play of so many classics, but she's also given careful consideration to the theatricality within the piece. I'd love to see a fully realized production of APOLLO FLIES, it would work really well as a curtain opener for any classic play, especially a romance.
