  • In this play, Heather Beasley takes an authentic, grounded look at a difficult mother/daughter relationship as they take on a difficult task. Decluttering can bring up so many memories and emotions, and M and D's journey with that resonated with me. And, as a coder/programmer myself, I loved the way that D's attachment to logic and structure, her methods of working, informed how she was able to connect and communicate. I would love to see this play performed!

  • I had the opportunity to see GODSPEED at the Denver Center, and was blown away. This play felt like a cross between an epic hero's journey and, of course, a Western. GODSPEED manages to strike a balance of humor amidst its difficult moments. Godspeed as a character is constantly compelling to watch -- I could have followed this character on her journey forever. I loved the character of Peklai, and appreciated the multilingual writing in this story. GODSPEED is an exciting and daring new play.

  • I really enjoyed seeing a reading of The Myth of the Two Marcos at the 2026 Colorado New Play Summit. I especially appreciated seeing two teenage boy characters who could be sensitive and vulnerable with each other, and I was fascinated by the role that superheroes and time played in this story. Excited to see this play's journey continue!

  • YOU SHOULD BE SO LUCKY is a truly theatrical piece -- I was fascinated by the physical transformations going on both inside and outside Poh Poh's apartment, and the ways that both the apartment and Chinatown were characters in their own right. I loved Jenny and Poh Poh's relationship and could have kept listening to them for a long time. It was such a treat to see a reading of this play at the 2026 Colorado New Play Summit and I'm excited to follow its continued journey!

  • I saw a reading of LEMURIA at the 2026 Colorado New Play Summit last month and fell in love - have not stopped thinking about this play since! I was instantly endeared to Sebastian and M, and loved the complexity (and toxicity - and how love can coexist with it) of the relationships among Miriam, Reagan, and Anabelle. LEMURIA brilliantly captures the complicated boundaries of mentorship and competition, and also finds plenty of time and space for delightful whimsy in the form of lemurs.

  • Audrey Lang: Krav Maga in the Temple Basement Starting This Sunday (Bagels to Follow)

This play asks many more questions than it answers, yet I wasn't left feeling there were things unsaid at the end. It's a play that makes you think -- and the point is the questioning and the thought, not knowing the answers. The playwright authentically writes many distinct perspectives on Jewish identity and specifically antisemitism. I also love how this play doesn't make martial arts just about physical fighting, but shines a light on the mental tenets of the practice. #JPP15thContest

  • Audrey Lang: The Shiva of Ethel Zimmerman (a work in development)

This felt like a genuine representation of so many of the Jewish people I know, and I appreciated the focus on cultural rather than just religious Judaism -- while still giving the religion a place of importance that is authentic to Ethel, the unseen character being remembered. I loved the playwright's specificity of multiple spaces being visible at once, not allowing the characters to escape the shiva and the other people there. A truly human story. #JPP15thContest

  • Audrey Lang: Movement of Life

This is a remarkable play that addresses not just grief, but the commodification of it into a large-scale, community-wide or even world-wide scope, and how that can mean we lose sight of caring for the individuals experiencing that grief. I was really excited by MOVEMENT OF LIFE's theatrical potential, especially for the character of Little Drummer Bear! #JPP15thContest

  • Audrey Lang: A Play about a Baby Carrot

Everything about this play was exciting to me! Its unique premise presents a genuine look at how four different people handle grief. The play brings humor to a difficult subject and creates a moving experience for those who have lost a loved one. The absurdity mixed with the serious setting of a shiva spoke to what grief and its stages are like in an authentic and moving way. #JPP15thContest

  • Audrey Lang: As We Like It

A wholly unique take on both a Holocaust story and a Shakespeare adaptation/inspiration. I was captivated reading this play and found it accessible and exciting, even as someone who doesn't typically dive deep into Shakespeare. The playwright balances "large scale ideas" like antisemitism with "small scale ideas" like family and interpersonal relationships in a beautiful, nuanced way. Excited to see the future development and life of this play! #JPP15thContest
