  • Asher Wyndham: GIRL VS. TROLL

Through her feminist folktale for young audiences, Carnes reminds us of the power of unlimited imagination, spirit, and optimism. On a middle-school stage a landscape of Northern Lights and frozen terrain can come to life, as expansive and enchanting as Wonderland, populated by creatures and talking things good and evil. Kids get to play talking flowers, snowflakes, birds, and so so much more -- there's a part for everyone in the drama class!
The Narrator's lines will inspire different interpretations and a dream-like design concept by lighting, media design, props, and set.

  • Asher Wyndham: Hard Cell

Non-stop tension, riveting all the way to the shocking ending.
One of my favorite short plays by Hoke.
    Another masterful work!
If you're producing a showcase of shorts on faith or set in prisons, choose this play.

  • Asher Wyndham: Lady Liberty is Losing Her Vision (A Monologue)

Statue of Liberty comes to life--in a clinic's waiting room. Even with her failing vision, Liberty stays firm to her commitment to America, to justice.
A reminder that even as you age, even until death, you should still stand up for what is right and represent just like Liberty!
I'd love to see this at a monologue festival.

  • Asher Wyndham: The Remote (a ten minute play)

Levine writes stellar comedy, ratcheting up the ridiculousness without compromising his themes and message. This play is a fine example.
It's not an exaggeration to say Levine is one of America's best short play playwrights in the history of short plays.

  • Asher Wyndham: Rudolph Really

If you're a fan of the classic Reindeer Monologues by Jeff Goode, you're going to luv Hoke's Christmas short play! This Pride-ful, outcast-loving play will be hit at your holiday festival. I encourage Queer directors and producers to read this, Tweet about it, Facebook post about it. This deserves productions in December, all over, from Alaska to Florida. This would be a hit at colleges. Who cares this wasn't written by a gay man because it's a f-ing fabulous, crass-tastic, homo Christmas alternative to Goode's play.

  • Asher Wyndham: FLOWERS IN THE DESERT (the play)/EIGHT DATES (the audio series)

Hoke's play isn't your perfect reconcilation story, and that's what makes it so perfect.
Anyone who has tried to make up for lost time, struggled to find happiness and redemption with someone from the past, like a former lover or partner, will be able to identify with these complicated characters.
Their journey to trust again, to communicate better, to confide, to care for reach other is so entertaining. And funny.
These characters are so well-developed, it's a marvel.
    PRODUCE THIS!

  • Asher Wyndham: The Way You Made Me (a solo show)

I've read a lot of monologues, and Partain goes places emotionally where most playwrights don't.
She goes deep, under the skin, it's soulful, heartfelt, painful, joyful, sexy, tender, poignant.
Her explorations of self-esteem, sexuality, body, womanhood, aging, loving, courtship -- all of it creates an emotionally effective and expanisve monologue.
And it's poetic, but it never feels contrived.
Just perfect for a fringe festival, a solo festival, or a college showcase of new talent.

  • Asher Wyndham: TEACH

This is one of the most intense plays I've read on NPX.
Inventive structure with whiplash-courtroom questioning and fluid pacing kept me invested to the end.
This play asks so many tough questions, among them: when parents are out of the picture, when they don't give a sh*t about their child's academic/emotional/ intellectual growth, how much is too much for a teacher to get involved?
If Hoke's play Elevator Girl made your audience uncomfortable, forcing them to question their biases and perceptions on gender and power, this will do the same.
I would love to see this performed!

  • Asher Wyndham: ELEVATOR GIRL

Hoke's ELEVATOR GIRL is a remarkable play because it can't be dismissed. It will f-up your evening in a good way. It's a dangerous play because it makes you question assumptions about gender and sex. It will definitely get people arguing after the show. Much of it has the pacing and intensity like a comic book for the stage.
A scenic and media designer will have a fun time collaborating.

  • Asher Wyndham: GM: ROB & SUE

The lives of these people devastated by plant closings is rarely seen on stage. Thank you Goldman-Sherman for bringing their voices to the page.
Makes you think about all the politicians that continue to forget about these people.
