I had the pleasure of seeing this haunting play performed in Tempe, AZ many years ago (with actual actors as mannequins) and I fondly remember it being unlike anything I've seen before.
Absurd without it being derivative of anything I've read or seen before.
    Creepy, but surprisingly poignant.
This is the kind of easy-to-produce ten-minute plays that will be hit everywhere. So I hope this gets more recommendations!
Highly recommended for a college sound designer looking for a great challenge.

  • Asher Wyndham: Cold Foam (monologue)

A perfect portrait of disgusting white toxicity. You laugh one moment, recognize maybe yourself, and then ughhhh the reminder that this sh*t is still happening so -- What's your response, what's your action against this injustice?
This will inspire plenty of conversation about what civic duty really means for white people in the Age of Trump.

  • Asher Wyndham: Bobby Quince Enters Adulthood

I don't want to give it away, please read this and the other monologues and marvel at how Weaver's unique approach for character, voice, and perspective for the monologue form. (Weaver has written a monologue from a fart's perspective, from someone trapped in a monologue, from a figure in a painting, an elf, kid Jesus, to name a few.) His approach will definitely wake-up any audience and inspire and challenge directors and actors. His monologue work inspires me to challenge myself.

  • Asher Wyndham: SYATP

This young woman's voice feels so authentic. Her desire for change for a broken world is also our own. Her invitation, she reminds us, is the one we need to extend to others, regardless of our differences. Highly recommended for a theatre festival showcasing plays on gun control.

  • Asher Wyndham: Uniforms

This play reminds you that the fight for gender equality and expression happens not just in the workplace but also in our school systems - and how these dress codes even in our most progressive schools uphold the binary and give a false sense of safety and order. Keyes makes you understand the frustration on both sides which makes this play fuel for a larger conversation. Well-done.

  • Asher Wyndham: One is the Road

I haven't read a monodrama in a long time where internalization, the stream-of-consciousness, the rush of the senses was so enthralling. Beautiful work. This will have any audience listening to every heart-felt word.

  • Asher Wyndham: Hunter, Hunted, and Those Who Watch

Rarely do TYA plays about bullying get into the mind of the bully and dissects the relationship with bully and bullied with such truth.
This should be required part of any program on bullying in schools because the words and the perspectives are from youth -- and it's from that angle that can wake-up administrators to make radical change.
Hageman continues her streak, writing necessary plays for TYA.

  • Asher Wyndham: Educating Asher

EDUCATING ASHER combines mourning and re-visiting trauma to create an emotionally-arresting play. Our young protagonist Asher can't trust people, can't open up and really connect with his long-term boyfriend -- flaws that many queer guys still have, even with all the rights and acceptance and pride.
With the use of scenes in the past, taking place in middle-school, the actor playing Asher has quite a challenge, playing young. This play will make queer guys remember fondly those special teachers (queer or not) that let us shine.
    Check it out.
