  • Glory Days
    29 Dec. 2021
This is a fantastic one-sided conversation between a DJ relieving the glory days of 80s radio and an unseen second character. There's some really wonderful phrasing in this piece that made me envision the piece unfolding in my head. This so well written, which is no surprise -- Bob's work is always great. Give it a read!
  • Lack of Inspiration
    23 Dec. 2021
When us playwrights struggle with getting "words on paper", we can come up with very creative ways to find inspiration. In LACK OF INSPIRATION, Rachel Feeny-Williams has given us one such traveled road by a playwright who is anxious to complete his work, no matter what. I love the concept and the execution was flawless. A must-read for any playwright. Well done!
  • Antagonism, or, Some People Like to P*ss in the Pool [a 1-minute play]
    20 Dec. 2021
It's amazing how much can be accomplished in a one minute piece like this. What I really love is that I had no idea where it was going until the very end. Well done!
  • The Ammo Box
    20 Dec. 2021
Beautiful and clever. I enjoyed reading THE AMMO BOX, and was fully invested in the characters and the story from beginning to end. Touching and sweet with a dose of heartache, too. Another great play by Joe Swenson.
  • Blue Christmas
    17 Dec. 2021
In BLUE CHRISTMAS, Allie Costa takes us on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster ride, but one that just doesn't just hit the extremes -- it covers those in-between emotions as well. A good play is one that makes you keep thinking about it well after you've read it or seen it performed; BLUE CHRISTMAS is one of those plays.
  • The Bear - Crib of Doom
    10 Dec. 2021
Can you imagine if the inanimate objects in our life could talk? Oh the stories they could tell. Well, this bear has one of those stories to tell -- and it really is a bit of a nail-biter! A clever and unique monologue! Looking forward to the sequel! :-)
  • New Pair of Eyeglasses
    22 Nov. 2021
Just a few lines into this play I was overcome by emotions that are hard to put into words. It's amazing how differently we all process grief, and how an otherwise everyday interaction is affected by that grief. Jessie Salsbury has crafted a well-written short play here, and one that not only had me feeling such compassion for the mother, but also making me smile that this clerk had a similar compassion for this grieving mother.
  • Right as Rain
    22 Nov. 2021
RIGHT AS RAIN is such a beautiful ten minute piece, and one that makes you smile and get a little teary at the same time -- my kind of play. If you want to read a play that tugs at your emotions, look no further.
  • A MOST BRIEF AND ECONOMICAL THEATRICAL TEXT OFFERING AN INTERPRETATION AND VISION OF A ONE MATTHEW WEAVER, PLAYWRIGHT, JOURNALIST, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, FRIEND AND WHAT HE MEANS TO SO MANY ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF HIS 40TH REVOLUTION ASTRIDE THE CELESTIAL B-

With a title like this, it just begged me to read it. So much can be said with few words, and FRANKY GONZALEZ nails it with this one. Beautiful. (Happy belated birthday, Matthew!)
  • Miss R.R.Hood Versus The Wolf.
    20 Oct. 2021
MISS R.R. HOOD VERSUS THE WOLF is such a fun read and a great take on the story we all know so well. Christopher Plumridge mixes the old tale with some modern language and props to make it uniquely his. I love when I get an ending I wasn't expecting. Would definitely recommend folks take a few minutes to read Plumridge's work here.
