  • Dan Taube: Polar Bear

Very upsetting monologue. But in the best possible way. I was so engrossed by what the character wanted I never considered it could end the way it did. Very likable character with real hopes and dreams. Loved it!

  • Dan Taube: Babies React To...

A comedy with a lot of feeling poured into it. I can feel the writers frustration and how it dominates all our lives. Family, work, etc. Also get the most dramatic material and “consequences” out of what is essentially a mundane act (shaving one’s beard) it feels like their lives will not be the same for a very long time.

  • Dan Taube: Heist!

Brilliant execution of a great idea for a comedy. These are the WORST thieves ever. Clearly they are not well suited to be thieves and it shows. Also loved the code names, especially GENE WILDER. Quick read with great laughs. You can’t go wrong with this one!

  • Dan Taube: Are You Comfortable?

A real thriller. There is so much in the dialogue to interpret. A delicious game of cat and mouse. Clever formatting as well. A great read!

  • Dan Taube: Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here

This was a very compelling read. A great take on the morality play. You are drawn in by all the individual stories of the characters. Some inherently bad, some more complicated, but all of it interesting. It is great to see all the characters come together at the end and their different responses to their fate. Well done. A great read!

  • Dan Taube: The Value of Gold

A gripping play with a lot to say. Karp draws his characters with great humanity. Even if you don’t agree with some of their choices, you can see it is a human being with real struggles. A great play to read if you ever felt like an outsider. Gripping ending that allows the audience to decide what happens next. Great work!

  • Dan Taube: THE PERSISTENCE OF VISION

Wow. What an epically beautiful story. Reminded me a lot of Citizen Kane. Lockhart begin and ends with an expertly drawn character and we follow him through all his ups and down. Also a very interesting look inside the animation and film business. Well researched and beautifully written. Bravo!

  • Dan Taube: Visitation

Had a feeling right from the beginning that things were not exactly as they seemed. A great character piece with high stakes and believable behavior. Once you realize what is actually going on it leads into a very satisfying ending.

  • Dan Taube: Boy's State (a monologue)

The story contained in this monologue is so simple yet so powerful. That feeling of alienation and the ensuing loneliness is heartbreaking. The writing is exquisite, pulling the reader in from the first word and never letting go until the end. Excellent and impressive read.

  • Dan Taube: Away From The Shadows

A great read! Simple, spare dialogue that reveals complex relationships under the surface. I would imagine a lot of people could relate to this play. Would love to read a longer version. This play leaves you wanting more!
