  • Mike Byham: From Day One

I saw this LOL gem at a festival recently. The audience simply loved it. This is a fun, funny piece that is relevant but doesn't sacrifice laughs for message or vice versa. The punch line works magnificently here. Read this play today, tomorrow, together.

  • Mike Byham: No Kiddin'

Another funny piece by Kim El. The story of diverse expectations on parenting is fertile ground, and El spares no one exploring it. The setting is perfect and the use of couple of off-stage characters shows imagination. I saw this at a festival and the audience ate it up. So well done.

  • Mike Byham: King Of Spades

Oh my, is this is a fun piece! I laughed along with 90 of my new best friends at festival in Pittsburgh. The story-telling is solid, the characters are real and the dialogue is top-notch. Quite a few clever zingers move things along - the pace of the story is just perfect. I was absolutely taken by this play. I think this one may be ripe for expansion. Just wonderful.

  • Mike Byham: Locally Sourced Municipal Frogs

Absurd yet relevant, this play manages to entertain and send a message in ten minutes. The characters are sharply-drawn and fun! It was a pleasure seeing this come to life!

  • Mike Byham: The Shape Of Goodbye

Effective and moving tale of grief. Simple concept but done so well. Great dialogue and wonderful use of setting that evokes all the right emotions. Touching. So happy to see this staged.

  • Mike Byham: What's in the Box?!

I was lucky enough to see this produced in Pittsburgh. Very funny and enjoyable mystery. Your level of anticipation builds as the reveals come in surprising waves. Wonderful characters with a next-level off-stage presence driving the action. Cleverly done and so much fun to watch it all unfold.

  • Mike Byham: reANIMA

This is what to expect from Aly Kantor. Beautiful work. She brings wonder, and angst, and hope to a scenario that’s maybe just around the corner for humanity? Technical musings on the future of consciousness and yet the story centers on the most human elements of self in a relationship. Interesting, thoughtful and engaging story-telling. I love this piece.

  • Mike Byham: Beat Your Vegetables

Please - someone stage this! Alles has done the impossible and found an angle not yet covered in Star Trek or Star Wars canon - attacking mutant vegetables! Who knew this would be so much fun? It’s a mash-up of Alien and Veggietales! I think I may have disturbing yet funny dreams tonight.

  • Mike Byham: FISH & FOWL

More like fish and FOUL (in all the best ways)! This thing is laugh out loud funny! I absolutely loved the interaction between the siblings. Natural dialogue, great premise, wonderful twists - this is a ten-minute package of fun! This would be great on stage!

  • Mike Byham: Ballad: A Two Character Play

BALLAD: A TWO CHARACTER PLAY is a wonderful piece of theatre. Multi-thread story-telling can be confusing in the wrong hands, but Ken Love proves up to the task. I love how he cleverly weaves the two distinctive stories into an emotionally wrought tapestry. This play unapologetically drips testosterone in the thematic connections. Yet the stories told by our masculine protagonists center on relationships with women of strength. Extraordinary. Would absolutely love to see this staged.
