  • D. Lee Miller: Artifact

A chance meeting on the Staten Island Ferry of two very different people makes for the magic of what can happen in life - a stranger who changes your life. This well-written, tense play covers a lot of ground and leaves us with hope. In Artifact, Weibezahl brings us a well-done play.

  • D. Lee Miller: Action Figures

A perfect gift of a play, ACTION FIGURES, by Peter Dakutis brings you in at the first moment and surprises us... not ... at the end. Lots of fun.

  • D. Lee Miller: Arboreal Conquests

A one-minute journey into the life of pretend with a kid and a tree is lovely. This world of an open imagination and heart is sadly missing in so many adults. It's a joy to read -- Surely even more a joy to see performed. ARBOREAL CONQUESTS conquered me!

  • D. Lee Miller: The Anteater

No more with Kafka's cockroach -- Enjoy Daniel Guyton's The Anteater, a short, short monologue that brings us Antony who has awakened as an anteater after a life as financial executive. A very funny monologue perfect for an audition!

  • D. Lee Miller: Begging the Question

How nice to recommend a play with two lovely and loving characters asking one of the most important questions! In only one minute Philip Middleton Williams brings you in to this good-natured drama with heart-warming expectations and we are gifted with a surprise ending. BEGGING THE QUESTION is a lovely, fun, play.

  • D. Lee Miller: Abandonment [a 1-minute play]

Steven Martin presents an immediate crisis in faith that is life-altering and maybe shattering - all in a matter of a minute. Sharp and to the point, extremely well done.

  • D. Lee Miller: A WOMAN IN NEED

A tart, saucy put-up-or-shut-up noir play, A WOMAN IN NEED is a twist on your typical noir. Martha Patterson knows her characters but only one 'knows' the other. Nice to see a woman in charge, though she is still presumed to be a woman in need. Nicely done.

  • D. Lee Miller: Your Gaze (a monologue)

This painfully open monologue brings us the frustration of a person with ADHD -ME, addressing YOU. Beautifully terrifying, it represents us all - using the higher hurdles of ADHD - to map the feelings of being desired. So honest. So well written. As Scott Sickles takes the lid off of desire in YOUR GAZE, you will tremble with ME. A beautiful piece.

  • D. Lee Miller: The Cardinal

It's amazing how we see what we want to see, in this case, a miracle. CD Cathro's THE CARDINAL, is a lovely play fraught with expectations we hold most dear. This mother and son, who do not accept each other's core beliefs are thrust into defining themselves and their disagreements and their joys. When we know each other and our dreams, it opens a door possibility. This could be a miracle at that. Beautifully done.

  • D. Lee Miller: COFFEE MUG

I love how Scott Mullen takes the 'smallest' of events, blows it up into a cataclysmic event and sucks the air back out of it - all in the space of a minute. Funny and so well written. Kudos to you, Mullen.
