  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: A Backstage Mystery

I love the sweetness of this stressed out backstage crew. They all get along divinely, but we do see their secrets as well. A fun piece to play for any group! I also find the Biblical staging so relatable for any audience, as anyone can recognize that the role of God would be the most stressful to take on at the last minute. A true actor's nightmare that just could pay out in glory!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: LINE READING

As someone who is both actor AND writer, I felt so connected to this play. That's a little backstory of my character, but unnecessary for the recommendation. As an actor, I need all the information I can get. As a writer, I want to watch the actors make discoveries in the role that surprise me! Playwriting is an art form that cannot exist without the collaboration of other artists and this is a wonderful and funny example of that!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: BIRTHRIGHTS...and WRONGS (a 10 minute play)

This is such a sweet character driven piece in such a high stakes and stressful moment. The perfect recipe to break down walls and develop new friendships. It is beautiful to watch these two strangers help one another make realizations about themselves and the futures they are about to have through different babies and mothers in their lives. A terrific Mother's Day salute!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: BOOTS

Super silly and surreal, BOOTS is, at its heart, a relationship story and the tools they use from couples' therapy are actually very relatable. Even if you aren't a burly guy in a relationship with a sock monkey. This would be a very visually entertaining play!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: I Survived Being Haunted by my Bathroom Mirror: Age 8

I really love Bree and Cole's relationship and how Mom encourages their imagination, as long as they aren't "running in the house." This is a feel good, though mysterious story about who lives inside the mirror.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Family Visitation (Ten Minute)

Oh my gosh, this play broke my heart. And even though the setting is 1986, it could just as well be now. And that is even more heartbreaking because we haven't gotten better. We've just found more diseases to die from. Such a powerful scene for 2 powerhouse actors to knock an audiences breath away.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: I Survived Being Haunted at my Childhood Home: Age 6

I feel like lots of us have had experience with "shadow figures" at some point in our lives. What I love about this piece is that it builds the tension about dealing with the unknown and then the shadow reveals just a little bit more about itself before we are all left in the dark again. I want to know more about Cole's new shadowy guardian!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Cross Words

A delightful little snapshot of a relationship. A couple can like completely different things (zombies/puzzles) and still come together and love each other!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Bear - A Dogged Tail

This historical ghost story, mixed with the modern tale of friendship between a "dangerous" teddy bear and a terrier may be my new favorite. Although, admittedly, I am a little biased. I love the classic joke of "Oh my word a talking dog/teddy bear!" Had me rolling! I may frame this particular Bear episode, to be honest!
UPDATE: Framed and ready for display!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Remembering Margot

I spent several years playing Margot in a production of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, and in becoming so connected to the character I always wished more was written about her as well. Claudia Haas has granted me and the world such a wonderful gift with this play. This would be great in rep with ANNE FRANK! But a lovely stand alone piece as well, showing the fear before going into hiding as well as the hope near the end so tragically ripped away. A very important story!
