A simple, but oh so touching tale of a daughter and her elderly mother. Those whose experience is similar to Anne's will understand well both the challenges and joys of time spent with an aging parent. Very nicely done. Recommended.
  • The Tub
    8 Mar. 2024
The Tub is another example of the wonderful writing of Matthew Weaver. If you've ever been in a relationship that ended... well... not badly, but unsatisfactorily, you'll recognize JJ, Ziggy, and the moment they're in. Spend a bit of time with them. You won't regret it. Very nicely done! Recommended.
  • Oh, Dear God, Dad is a Feminist

It's plays such as this that make me a fan of the 10-Minute play form. Kim E. Ruyle's characters are intelligent, well-drawn and involving. The form is straightforward, but does not rely upon or require an obvious objective that must be attained. These are just two people - two very likeable people - who share a few moments of their lives and thoughts with us. And that's enough. Very well done! Highly recommended.
  • A BLAST
    15 Feb. 2024
A thoroughly enjoyable short... Paul Smith's A BLAST might well be called "Not Waiting For Godot" as there is no waiting, but a good bit of crisp, Beckett-like dialogue. 'What appears to be'... at least in this comedy... and 'what actually is'... are two separate things. Good fun! Recommended!
  • An Untethered Woman

    Brilliant... absolutely brilliant. Nuff said.

(Well, no it isn't, actually. While both roles in this two-hander are excellent, actresses of a certain age would be ecstatic to be offered the role of Amy. Don't miss this work! Now... nuff said.)
  • A Very Public, Very Family Friendly Park Bench (10 Minute)
    24 Jan. 2024
Mary Darling's A Very Public, Very Family Friendly Park Bench is a wonderfully different coming out story with a wonderfully different ending. Warm, witty, wistful, and wise, this is a play you want to read... and then suggest to your local theatre for production. Brava, Mary!
  • Casual Farewell
    13 Dec. 2023
A situation all too often confronted by our society... a school shooting... a loss. Both personal and impersonal. Wouldn't it be nice if we never had to say goodbye for a reason such as this. Nicely written. Recommended.

A powerful short about a situation that, God forbid, could very easily come about today. Or tomorrow. Taut, tense, terrific. Recommended!
  • TWO SCHEMERS ON A BENCH (a ten minute comedy)
    26 Oct. 2023
Sad, isnt it, when older folks have to scheme to get attention from the younger members of their families... but that's the premise of Two Schemers On A Bench by Marj O'Neill-Butler... a thoroughly enjoyable gentle comedy with two fine roles for two older male actors. Should be great fun for senior theatre groups. Recommended!

Run, don't walk, to get a copy of this wonderfully comic play by the inimitable Rex McGregor. Fast, funny, with superb roles for three very lucky actors. A brilliant comedy sure to please audiences the world over. Highest recommendation!
