  • A touching, meaningful, well-written work. Mother Yvonne and daughter Sadie both must deal with traumatic loss, but both must deal with their loss in their own way. Very nice indeed. Recommended.

  • A thoroughly enjoyable short work with a wonderful twist at the end. (To tell you more would be just wrong!) Highly recommended!

  • A powerful look at one of the many atrocities perpetrated by the Nazis during WWII. Let us not forget our history. Plays such as this are invaluable in keeping the memories alive. Recommended.

  • What great fun! Not a shred of weight to this romp, but it is wonderfully written. Highly recommended!

  • Expectations are often not fulfilled. In CAN I GO NOW, playwright Louise Schwartz presents us with a situation that should be traumatic for Marianne, the daughter of Will and Dina. Seems her parents are getting a divorce. Strangely, Marianne seems undisturbed. Or is she? An enjoyable work. Recommended.

  • John Kelly: THE LINGERING SCENT OF ORANGES

Two sisters - of a certain age - face aging and death with vastly different philosophies. Melinda wants all she can get out of life, while Robin the realist wants to follow society's rules. The two women obviously share a love for one another, but neither can live life as her sister wishes. A fine play. Highly recommended.

  • John Kelly: Screens

A simple, but oh so touching tale of a daughter and her elderly mother. Those whose experience is similar to Anne's will understand well both the challenges and joys of time spent with an aging parent. Very nicely done. Recommended.

  • John Kelly: The Tub

The Tub is another example of the wonderful writing of Matthew Weaver. If you've ever been in a relationship that ended... well... not badly, but unsatisfactorily, you'll recognize JJ, Ziggy, and the moment they're in. Spend a bit of time with them. You won't regret it. Very nicely done! Recommended.

  • John Kelly: Oh, Dear God, Dad is a Feminist

It's plays such as this that make me a fan of the 10-Minute play form. Kim E. Ruyle's characters are intelligent, well-drawn and involving. The form is straightforward, but does not rely upon or require an obvious objective that must be attained. These are just two people - two very likeable people - who share a few moments of their lives and thoughts with us. And that's enough. Very well done! Highly recommended.

  • John Kelly: A BLAST

A thoroughly enjoyable short... Paul Smith's A BLAST might well be called "Not Waiting For Godot" as there is no waiting, but a good bit of crisp, Beckett-like dialogue. 'What appears to be'... at least in this comedy... and 'what actually is'... are two separate things. Good fun! Recommended!
