  • In the Name of Love (ten-minute play)
    16 Sep. 2023
What a wonderful work! Just when you think you know what this play is about, it's about something else. Marvelous! The writing is delightful, the plotting first-rate, and the characters are oh so very real. Brava! Highly recommended.
  • Everything Bagel
    12 Sep. 2023
A simple, straightforward, and exquisitely touching play about life, aging, and the inextinguishable hope of the human spirit. Very well written. Highly recommended.
  • This Time Around
    11 Sep. 2023
In THIS TIME AROUND, playwright Daniel Repp has crafted a melancholy sci-fi rom-com that isn't really melancholic, nor romantic, nor a comedy... but it is oh so wonderfully satisfying. Thanks to a scientific accident, a married couple is sent back in time... back to their earlier lives. Their young selves still remember their lives-to-be, but find they cannot simply recreate them - if they should even wish to. Wise and thought provoking. Highly recommended.
  • Shelter in Comfort
    3 Sep. 2023
SHELTER IN COMFORT is a thoroughly enjoyable comedy about relationships, both real and artificial. It reminds one of some of the best of Britain's television comedies. Bravo, Rex! Recommended.
  • All the Rice Paddies in the World
    29 Aug. 2023
Inhumanity, indignity, inflexibility, inhospitality... Graca Harada faced them all. This WWII tale- taken from real life- is troubling and disquieting, but ultimately ends happily thanks to the efforts of a single WAC recruiter. Very well written, with two fine parts for women. Highly recommended!
  • Mother of Pearl (from the THE WRINKLE RANCH AND OTHER PLAYS ABOUT GROWING OLD collection)
    29 Aug. 2023
What a wonderful little play! Simple, straightforward, with a topic most parents - especially those with college aged students - can understand, this play is a joy. And the twist at the end is, quite simply, perfect. Brava, Deb!
  • Let's Dance
    28 Aug. 2023
The things we neglect saying... or doing... are considered in this tight, thoughtful, and ultimately touching play. Alice and James (brother and sister) share disappointment and discovery in their all too brief moment together after their father's funeral. Wonderful storytelling. Brava! Highly recommended.
  • IT'S ALL IN THE EYE
    26 Aug. 2023
Ah, how little we know when first we're sure we know it all. The lessons of Marj O'Neill-Butler's wonderful 10-minute work about painters and painting could be applied to almost any art form... literature, music, drama. The play concerns talent, dedication, drive, professionalism... everything an artist needs to possibly succeed in the world... and presents it all in a brilliantly moving and truthful way. Brava! Most highly recommended.
  • Emergency Contact (10 Minute Play)
    13 May. 2023
A supremely moving play about family - a family dealing with unresolved interpersonal issues between a mother (Candace) and father (Jeremy) brought to a climax by an accident involving their child, Al... now Allison... who lies in surgery after a car accident. Jeremy's known nothing of Allison's transition and now must confront his biases about transgenderism while caring for the child he loves. A wonderful play deserving of much attention and production. Highly Recommended.

A most enjoyable short play that ends too soon - well, no, it ends as it should, but we want more. The two characters of this play are so very likeable... the situation so relatable (especially for those of us who have or have had older parents!)... and the writing so brisk and breezy. A fine short indeed.
