  • I Invited Your Mother for Thanksgiving

A wonderful short play about reconciliations - both large (Warren with his mother) and small (Warren with Dale.) The honest emotions expressed in this work are an exemplar of fine dramatic writing. Bravo!
  • Guilt by Association
    23 Mar. 2023
A superbly powerful look at an issue from over a half century ago that still is of vital importance today. Gay bullying and gay bashing have, if anything, gotten worse in the years since this encounter is to have occurred. A must read - moving, significant, poignant. The list of descriptors could go on and on. Read this play! Now!
  • Scholarship
    7 Mar. 2023
For anyone who has spent time in higher education - as either a student or staff member - this engaging play by Brian Cern will ring oh so true. Administrivia is the hallmark of university life, and it is displayed here in all its maddening glory. Comic and insightful, SCHOLARSHIP is a work sure to entertain. Recommended!

  • Descanso
    16 Jul. 2022
A supremely moving tale of two women whose lives have been forever linked by the death of Beth's daughter, Jocelyn, in the front yard of Marissa's home. Strangers when first they met, they now have come to know and care for each other, because Beth visits nightly a shrine she has created in Marissa's yard. But it's been quite some time, and Marissa needs to move on. So too does Beth, but the prospect of doing that seems devastating. A play about love, loss, longing, and so much more. This is a play you should see for yourself. Bravo!
  • After Another (Full Length)
    27 Jun. 2022
A modern look at relationships - similar to Schnitzler's La Ronde (upon which it is based) - with nine winding, interwoven scenes in which nine pairs consider the relationships in one or more of their lives. While La Ronde was considered provocative and controversial, this After Another is more contemplative and considerate. And that's not a bad thing. not at all. All the characters presented are well drawn, with recognizable and affecting interactions for the audience to consider. Highly successful. Bravo!
  • Solastalgia
    24 Nov. 2021
A short but exceptionally poignant play about a woman so distressed by climate change that she finds life - at least the life she had previously known - near impossible. Her husband, ever supportive, looks for ways to bring the woman he married back to him. Wonderful. Highly Recommended.
  • Short Stories
    23 Nov. 2021
A wonderful, moving short two-hander that is so much more than it first appears to be. The love, loss, grief and renewal evident in the work make it supremely affective. (Be advised, this is a highly personal work for the playwright.) Highly Recommended.
  • The Séance
    23 Nov. 2021
Brother and sister Charles and Carrie want to make Uncle Elbert happy by holding a seance to reach their deceased Aunt Sue, Elbert's ex. They hire a "sketchy" medium, Zelda, to bring about the communication between realms. But when Zelda appears to be anything but legitimate, things begin to go haywire. It's just possible Sue has decided to communicate with one and all without the help of the scheming Zelda. Good fun for all. Recommended.
  • Another Cassandra?
    14 Nov. 2021
A modern day Cassandra tale set in the hidden recesses of today's theatre. Cleverly constructed and most timely. Do give this play a look. Recommended.
