This one-act play moves with rapid-fire precision. Office politics, secrets, financial fears and the fear of starting over, denial, misplaced loyalties, and victim consciousness all play out amidst the backdrop of a fireworks display. Great dialogue, relatable characters, and a well-crafted plot all come together to create a thought-provoking, stage-worthy piece.

A heartrending piece about young love, derailed by well-meaning, misguided parents, who have no clue about the enduring power of love. This short play will resonate with audiences of all ages, because the tale of the-one-that-got-a-way is as as old as time. Beautifully written, with crisp, clean, concise dialogue that rips your heart open, this play reminds us that only love matters, and only love is real. Bravo!

This dark comedy warns us of the danger inherent in allowing social media to dominant our lives, and further reminds us that what we post online when we are young, can haunt us all the rest of our lives.
A well-crafted short play, detailed and nuanced, intriguing and thought-provoking, I would love to see this staged.

Doug DeVita is one of my favorite playwrights, and “Fable” reinforces the many reasons why I love his writing. This full-length play is multilayered, highly theatrical, funny, and heartrending. It really is meant to be seen and experienced, but it also makes for a fascinating read. One of the most perfectly crafted plays you will ever encounter. Bravo!

A heartwarming, funny, and well-written short play with great roles for older actors. An upbeat play that reveals the upside of a long-term marriage. I love the way this play dispels the stereotypes about senior citizens being too over-the-hill to enjoy life. Bravo!

This is a fast-paced, well-written, hysterically funny short play that will have the audience roaring with laughter. A great vehicle for comedic actors. I would love to see this play staged or Zoomed. Bravo!
  • The Baddest Kid on Emerson

The cruelty, judgment, stupidity, arrogance, false beliefs, and violence teenagers are known to express is brilliantly and vividly brought to life in this ten-minute drama. A highly visual and physical play, I would love to see this staged. Shocking, disturbing, and all-too real, this haunting play is a sad commentary on modern life and the lack of compassion, respect, and kindness that young people display toward their elders.

Just the mere mention of Belgium Waffles at the World’s Fair, well, that alone made me love this play, which is set in 1964. A short trip down memory lane, when the World Trade Center was about to become a reality, and the assassination of JFK was still fresh in the minds of every American, a young couple discuss their future marriage. Brilliantly written, this ten-minute play makes you reflect on the rigid roles men and women were expected to follow back in the day. Bravo!
