  • David Lipschutz: Batman Vs. The Joker at the Laundromat

Oh this play is a riot! You don't need to be a DC Comics expert to get the humor of BATMAN VS. THE JOKER AT THE LAUNDROMAT. Emily Hageman takes the mundane setting of the laundromat and places it on top of the exciting activity of Batman versus Joker. This is a hilarious, very smart piece, and the characters are a real treat!

  • David Lipschutz: Invisible

INVISIBLE is a short yet sweet and quite poignant monologue by Dana Hall. I felt this one on a multitude of levels.

  • David Lipschutz: Shabbat Shalom, Singles

Oh I felt this play on so many levels! SHABBAT SHALOM, SINGLES is both hilarious and charming, and it had me cackling throughout the read. Great work to Margot Connolly.

  • David Lipschutz: Marriage

Had a chance to catch this piece as part of Jakespeare VTC's Summer Shorts Play Fest. MARRIAGE is the epitome of a playwright thinking outside the box. Greg Hovanesian does a great job leaving the audience no choice but to experience discomfort with the presence of Husband in the middle of the room while Sam and Lou have a seemingly normal conversation.

  • David Lipschutz: The Book of Shadows

I had the pleasure of watching a reading of this play with Broken Nose Theatre's Paper Trail series. THE BOOK OF SHADOWS is a beautiful, poignant piece that follows Ella's journey over ten years, as she discovers herself, her identity, and her family. The writing is smart and strong. The characters are deftly created. And I was captivated the entire performance (I won't say I was 'under a spell,' but I want to!). Mazel Tov to Lane Anthony Flores.

  • David Lipschutz: My Vagina Has A First Name

MY VAGINA HAS A FIRST NAME is a hilarious play (I mean, the title alone is a hoot!) with a ton of heart. The dialogue moves at a great pace, and the characters are so enjoyable to watch interact. Great work to Dana Hall!

  • David Lipschutz: Taking Sum Lumps

I was able to catch this fantastic play at the KVTA 10-Minute Play Festival. Ken Preuss delivers a fast-paced, extremely witty play in "Taking Sum Lumps" that will keep the audience laughing - and groaning! - throughout the entire 10-minutes.

  • David Lipschutz: Second Act Second Helpings

I had the pleasure of watching this performed at the KVTA 10-Minute Play Festival. "Second Act Second Helpings" perfectly encompasses the world's mindset in 2021 after the year that was 2020. John Mabey's writing is top notch (as always), and the dialogue between the characters is so crisp and effective. I won't spoil the end, but it has this beautiful and very funny peak (or should I say, dive...!).

  • David Lipschutz: A Play Within a Play Within a Play

Hilary Bluestein-Lyons has meticulously crafted a smart and engaging play with "A Play Within a Play Within a Play." I loved following the story as I tried to figure out what was reality and what was 'scripted.'

  • David Lipschutz: TRICK OR TREAT - MONOLOGUE

"TRICK OR TREAT" is a fun and atmospherically spooky monologue by Vivian Lermond. We get to experience the thrill and terror Will felt that fateful Halloween many years ago. A nostalgic piece that can take anyone back to their childhood days of trick or treating by the scary house down the street!
