  • It's A Wonderful Satan
    28 May. 2023
Got a chance to listen to this one on the Gather by the Ghostlight podcast. John Mabey is one of my favorite playwrights, and they have such a diverse array of genres under their belt. The play, IT'S A WONDERFUL SATAN, is no exception; it is a delightfully 'devilish' and very witty parody!
  • Refracted Light
    28 May. 2023
REFRACTED LIGHT is a powerful play that deals with family and mental health struggles. Dana Hall's writing is fluid and smart (as always), and she has created an ensemble of characters that are multi-dimensional and who each feel grounded in reality.
  • The Bear - Crib of Doom
    15 Apr. 2023
THE BEAR - CRIB OF DOOM is immensely enjoyable prose by Christopher Plumridge. I am hooked on the life and struggles of the vampire teddy bear.
  • It's All in the Research
    15 Apr. 2023
IT'S ALL IN THE RESEARCH is a smart and thought-provoking play by Lee R. Lawing. I loved reading this, and I cannot get over the premise (a premise that is somehow timely and topical even today). I - like Tommy - am shocked by the revelations presented herein. This one will stick with readers/audiences long after the play has ended.
  • Beast
    15 Apr. 2023
Omfg, BEAST is so damn funny! Adam: "You were going to steal the china, weren't you?" [a beat] Old Beggar Woman: "No." Freaking hilarious! Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend is a comedy master. I was cackling from beginning to end at this parody of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast."
  • I Forgot To Title This Play
    15 Apr. 2023
I FORGOT TO TITLE THIS PLAY is a spot-on meta one-minute play by Sam Heyman. I particularly love the creativity in the title, the synopsis, and the character names.
  • Xiernon from Glixtar
    12 Apr. 2023
XIERNON FROM GLIXTAR is a very funny comedic take on an alien invasion. I was lucky enough to catch this on the Gather By The Ghostlight podcast. Great work to Maripat Allen!
  • Just as Sweet
    12 Apr. 2023
JUST AS SWEET is the perfect title to this delightful and charming and very 'sweet' play by Hannah Lee DeFrates.
  • A Benevolent Alliance of Mourners
    9 Apr. 2023
Everyone should read/watch/listen to plays by Ken Preuss. I listened (with the Gather By The Ghostlight podcast) to A BENEVOLENT ALLIANCE OF MOURNERS, and my goodness, this play had me feeling all the feelings. The characters, the dialogue, the situation, all real and authentic and powerful.
  • Open Mic Night
    9 Apr. 2023
No spoilers, but what a clever play! Highly recommend you listen to OPEN MIC NIGHT with the Gather By The Ghostlight podcast. Evan Baughfman has written something spooky and very fun that is reminiscent of an episode of Tales from the Crypt.
