  • David Lipschutz: Open Mic Night

No spoilers, but what a clever play! Highly recommend you listen to OPEN MIC NIGHT with the Gather By The Ghostlight podcast. Evan Baughfman has written something spooky and very fun that is reminiscent of an episode of Tales from the Crypt.

  • David Lipschutz: Brightly: A Monologue

BRIGHTLY is a heartfelt and sincere monologue by Eytan Deray. It gives hope reading words a supportive parent might give to their child.

  • David Lipschutz: Cabana Boy

CABANA BOY is an honest, charming, and heartfelt coming of age/sexuality tale, beautifully written by Philip Middleton Williams. I can easily imagine these characters, the setting, and the story as Williams has such a strong attention to detail. Great work, and I hope to one day see it performed live!

  • David Lipschutz: Finger

FINGER is a suspenseful and immensely well-crafted play by DC Cathro. The characters each have unique voices and fully-fleshed out personalities. I had a chance to catch a reading of this with Aston Rep Theatre Company, but I would absolutely cut off a finger to see a live production performed!

  • David Lipschutz: A Minute Past Midnight on Valentine's Day, or, the Untold Truth about Romantics [a 1-minute play]

Wow, so much happens in such a brief moment in A MINUTE PAST MIDNIGHT ON VALENTINE'S DAY, OR, THE UNTOLD TRUTH ABOUT ROMANTICS. Steven G. Martin really knows how to pack an emotional punch! Beautiful work!

  • David Lipschutz: Cupcake

CUPCAKE is a very fun and very silly one-minute play about existential crises. I hope to never meet this cupcake! Bravo to playwright, Ava Love Hanna!

  • David Lipschutz: A Toast (from the THE WRINKLE RANCH AND OTHER PLAYS ABOUT GROWING OLD collection)

A TOAST is an honest and emotionally powerful play about grief and love as seen through the lens of two sensible and real characters. That speech at the end really caps off the play in a raw and beautiful way. Great work to Debra A. Cole!

  • David Lipschutz: An Awkward Conversation in the Shadow of Mount Moriah

I love love love the idea of a conversation between Abraham and Isaac post near-sacrifice. AN AWKWARD CONVERSATION IN THE SHADOW OF MOUNT MORIAH is a very smart and very funny play by John Bavoso. I was lucky enough to catch the production performed with Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre, and I also listened to it with Gather by the Ghostlight.

  • David Lipschutz: Right As Rain

RIGHT AS RAIN is a dark, existential play set in a post-apocalyptic universe. The ending will leave you feeling FEELINGS! Great work to playwright, Hannah Lee DeFrates.
