  • David Lipschutz: Free! Powerful Muscles Fast!

FREE! POWERFUL MUSCLES FAST! is a nostalgic, coming-of-age monologue about the explorations and discoveries of one's sexual identity, beautifully written by Philip Middleton Williams. I've always wondered what those magical ads in the back of comic books would bring; and now I know! Check this one out.

  • David Lipschutz: Abort: The Mission

ABORT: THE MISSION is a super timely and topical play. What's more, it's impeccably written by Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend! Each character has their own voice and personality (and, from an acting standpoint, would be very fun to play!). Best of all, this playwright has this uncanny ability to move with relative ease from peak comedy to sincere drama.

  • David Lipschutz: Mosque4Mosque

I was lucky enough to see a production of MOSQUE4MOSQUE with About Face Theatre. The play is full of beautifully written characters who are grounded in reality and tackles important - and sometimes heavy - subject matter. It's funny, serious, and all points in between. I look forward to reading and seeing more of work by Omer Abbas Salem.

  • David Lipschutz: Fork and Spoon (from the THE WRINKLE RANCH AND OTHER PLAYS ABOUT GROWING OLD collection)

FORK AND SPOON is a a very sweet and a VERY punny short play by Debra A. Cole. I came for the pancakes and stayed for the old man jokes!

  • David Lipschutz: Target Audience

Oy I felt this one! TARGET AUDIENCE is written with love by a playwright (Sam Heyman) on behalf of all playwrights. I'd relish the opportunity to see this performed live; I just need to travel to "Somewhere, USA"!

  • David Lipschutz: To the Class of Miskatonic University 2022

TO THE CLASS OF MISKATONIC UNIVERSITY 2022 is a hilarious homage to the master of cosmic horror, H.P. Lovecraft. Not only that, but it somehow fluidly parallels the horrors of reality as well. Great work to Christopher Soucy!

  • David Lipschutz: The Ultimate Christmas Question

THE ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS QUESTION is a spot-on conversation between two very fun characters with crisp and engaging dialogue and a hilarious conclusion, written by Rachel Feeny-Williams. Give it a listen on the Gather By The Ghostlight podcast! #TeamJeff #DieHardIsAChristmasMovie

    ...

MINOR SPOILER: I'm so mad there was not a single mention of the greatest Christmas films of all time: The Lord of the Rings trilogy!

  • David Lipschutz: The Bear - Beginnings

THE BEAR-BEGINNINGS showcases Christopher Plumridge's immense talents! I was enthralled listening to this production with Gather By The Ghostlight, and it left me wanting to listen to/read the full Bear series.

  • David Lipschutz: To Die For

HILDA'S DINER is a powerful play. The story, the characters, and the dialogue are all top notch. Dana Hall has not only created some emotionally raw and tender moments, but she has this natural ability to keep readers on their toes with what comes next. Would love to see this as a staged production!

  • David Lipschutz: Space Laser, In Space!

Wow. I just went on a journey. I was immediately intrigued by the title, SPACE LASER, IN SPACE! Then, I started reading the play, and I was laughing out loud because it was funny and so deviously smart (to turn the idiotic anti-Semitic conspiracy theories on their heads). THEN, as I continued reading, I was absolutely hooked - feeling anxiety, sadness, and, to be honest, fear. Jillian Blevins does a fantastic job in crafting this play. I can't believe it was only 10-minutes long!
