  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: FLOATING BUBBLES

We read this as part of one of our play readings and its a beautiful little piece. It takes a simple meeting of two people and really floods it with emotion and imagination and that's what makes it a brilliant piece!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Solicitation

This piece creates beautiful imagery right from the opening stage directions ("a raven-haired beauty"). From there the piece rewards the reader, firstly with two brilliantly created characters (particularly Noelle), secondly with a story that piles tension up until it crescendos at the end! Even reading the piece you find yourself desperate to see where its going and right up until the end you are left wanting more and kept guessing. Its not often a play leaves me out of breath but this brilliant piece definitely did! Wonderful work and a great two-hander!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: THE OTHER SIDE

A interesting take on the divide between the generations. You almost want to know what events made up their lives to bring them to this particular point but even though you don't, as a reader you can open up your own imagination to decide what brought both characters to that point and sometimes that is what makes great theatre, the idea to imagine rather than just be told the story! A lovely short piece.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Thalia's B&B

When you tell people you write there is always the question of where your inspiration comes from but Ruyle answer the question clearly and concisely in this short but amusing piece. All of the characters are perfectly individual and the dialogue flows beautifully. Its a perfect example of taking a situation and deciding "there's a play in here somewhere".

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Lack of Moisture

A beautifully subtly analysis of what is a marriage at a difficult stage. You find yourself feeling so sorry for Alice as she desperately tries to make their romantic weekend happen. While Henry doesn't say much he is a prime example of 'its what they don't say'. Both characters are very relatable and the piece would be a wonderful opportunity for the actors involved. A very well done short piece!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Trackers

From the moment the two characters enter I could feel my mind racing with questions, which is how I like to start a piece. From here the tension between the two and then third characters builds and more and more questions are unfold. The writer has created a dark and controlling world that these characters are a part of and we as an audience only see a snapshot of it here. Very well done and would definitely be interested in the full version.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Rattler

Sexual assault has been a central topic for plays/tv shows/movies for many years and is considered very much a 'powder keg' issue. However, Adams takes this issue very cleverly from a new perspective. Reading the very real characters she creates as they talk about their lives and facing what can be one of the worst things for a family to go through brings this pice to a whole different level. For me, I could hear the characters as they talked and could feel for them. That, for me is something that makes great theatre!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Two Cats Explain the Monstrous Moth Group

A piece that will answer that age old question "What is my cat thinking?" This piece demonstrates clearly that cats think themselves superior and shows this in an amusing way. You have several 'rib tickling' moments to look forward to in this piece!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Poison Anyone

A brilliantly funny piece that starts right from the tagline! The dialogue between the two characters is almost silky smooth in the way it flows. As a reader of the script you obviously know what awaits the characters but you aren't sure whether you want him to become wise to his fate or not. As the true nature of his crime and the heartbreaking results for his wife you realise he is getting his just deserts. This gives the playa a beautiful arch of emotion which is very well achieved in 7 pages! Well done :-)

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Three Tons of Earth (This is a Mother) (5 min choreopoem)

The ensemble creation with this piece is very well done. The dialogue (although it could just as easily be lyrics) is clipped and swift. As an audience member it would be a piece that requires focus and that allows the audience to be drawn into the action. I found myself with many questions at the end as well as the ones that had been answered so this could easily be converted into a full length piece. Very well created.
