  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: When to be a Woman, When a Girl

The strength seen in the central character of Ruth is very apparent in her from the very beginning. The piece is a classic struggle of power between the genders Physically as well as metaphorically in this case. As the events on fold the dialogue and physical interactions build up an intriguing interaction that says a great deal about the human psyche and how fragile it can be. It is very much a 'thinking' piece and would be very interesting to see on a stage. Very well done.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Courtship of Max and Midge

Having completed a couple of plays myself where animals play characters with human like traits, I was very intrigued by this piece and I wasn't disappointed. This is a quick moving comedic love story that even came with a health warning! I am heartily impressed and can say I will never look at pigeons in quite the same way again.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: SEEN

As someone who has never done horror films well I thought maybe reading a horror script would take me a step towards conquering that. In this case however the dialogue starts with a several funny moments and takes you by surprise. The comedy dialogue between the characters continues despite the horrific situation they have found themselves in. It plus the tension builds to a crescendo twist ending which in my opinion warrants a 'NO WAY!' Despite being a short piece it has all an audience would look for, comedy, tension and a twist. Brilliantly done!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Protectors

The beautiful innocence of the opening lines of this piece started me off giggling with this piece. The comical back and forth between the two brothers is wonderful, until it is brought to a sharp halt by a devastating phone call. The way Ryan appears to almost go through several of the stages of grief (denial, bargaining with the almighty, anger) and this emotional tirade for the character is very relatable. You almost expect the secret to unfold but then the writer surprises you and this makes the piece not only beautifully done and would be very interesting to see.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Naughty List

A hilarious piece that had my laughing from pretty much the very beginning. The idea of taking a gritty world of gangsters and sprinkling the magic of a Christmas elf (mixed in with a bit of crazy) is absolute genius. I think this piece would be great as apart of a short play evening for the festive time of year. I can't really say it much more than I love it!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A Storm Came Up

With the current events happening a play like 'A Storm Came Up' is a very relevant piece of theatre, despite the year it is set. You know right from the word go what this piece means to show to you and it does not let you down. It holds your focus and leaves you wanting more. Although the central topic can be hard one it is thoroughly explored with characters that you can feel for and that makes it a very good piece of theatre.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Sin - One Act Play

Kaminski most definitely has the writer's skill of 'hooking your audience' very early on with this piece. As I read the opening pages there was a point where I was leaning further and further forward with intrigue and it most definitely didn't stop as the piece went on. The creation of the characters works well as they all have a wonderfully unique style to their way of speaking and interacting with others. Its a beautifully created seedy piece that would hold an audiences focus with ease. Brilliantly done!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Inquiries

As a writer and actor I often find myself thinking about method acting and how far actors go for parts. "Inquiries" is an extreme example of this. The two interrogators have a lovely clipped back and forth (it has a remanence of dialogue from a black and white cop show). The tense atmosphere builds to a lovely crescendo and the closing line frames the crazy situation perfectly. I think it could be built into a full play if the author felt inclined but as it stands it makes an entertaining and interesting piece.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Wish You Were Here

In a time where we as a society are transfixed by our phones and the idea of making small talk seems like a thing of the past 'Wish you were here' does a wonderful job of handing society a mirror. Although some may think the action of two characters texting while sat next to each other is extreme I think the portrayal is very relevant. Coupled with the tender and sweet dialogue between the two characters I think it would make any audience walk away thinking 'have we gotten that bad?', which makes the piece brilliant!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Bicycle to Beijing

Well the piece started funny with a couples 'back and forth' and then ascended into laugh out loud (and I did) moments. It was a great piece to read and I think would be a great piece to watch. Joe's entrance is one that greatest a beautifully funny image and coupled with the funny dialogue makes this a wonderful piece!
