  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: My Struggle

A truly captivating piece that creates some powerful images. This piece would stir emotion in almost any audience and would have them walking away thinking and feeling, which is a great thing for any play in my opinion. Taking on this kind of subject matter is brave for any writer and it most certainly plays off in this wonderful piece!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Hoplo

While Hoplo centres around a very traumatic subject I found the relationship between therapist and patient very touching. The fragility of Hope and the tenderness of the Dr made their dialogue beautiful in places and this counter balanced with the harsh moments with the protesters made this piece a lovely emotionally balanced piece that would stand very relevant with todays world events. Very well done.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: GATEWAY

I love the way the dialogue of this piece seems to switch between that of almost an interrogation to the awkwardness of a first date to a tender moment between friends (maybe more) and back again. It held me captivated as the story unfolded between the two. The telling of the tale of 'that night' paints an image so clear you could almost see it. The story would very easily hold an audience captivated until the very end. I know it did me!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Gravestones

A somewhat spooky yet funny scenario unfolds as the three characters find themselves in a cemetery for different reasons. The dialogue gives the piece great pace and the character's individuality is all very noticeable and I liked the way it ended. Very well done!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Not But In Mistaking

A drama filled piece with tension and humour galore. It almost feels soap opera in the plot line (and that's never a bad thing) as it keeps you hooked right the way through. Each of the female characters are brilliantly individual with their own unique voices and the ending had me going 'aw' and 'yay' at the same time. A wonderful piece that provides great roles for women.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Girls MATTER

A wonderfully powerful piece! As someone with a interest in 'freedom of the press' genre films I think the writer has done a brilliant job of taking multiple complicated issues and addressed them coherently, which can be difficult to do in a short piece. I think that this piece could also become a full length piece as the tale of how the editor became the editor and what the fallout of the article was is something an audience would be interested to know. However, it does stand as a brilliant piece on its own.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: blank robbery

This is a brilliantly funny piece that is a living example of how friendships can literally occur from anywhere. I loved the characters of Keyanna and Nate. As they talk I could hear their voices and when you can hear a characters voice from just reading a scripts that shows its a strong piece. The bank and forth between them means the piece flows wonderfully and the ending is powerful but touching at the same time. Brilliant work!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Suitcase

A wonderfully juicy mystery that leaves the whole piece open is always good fun and this one is a great example. From the first page I was dying to know what was in the suitcase and by the end I feel if I'd been sat in an audience I would have stood up and screamed "WHAT IS IN THE SUITCASE?!" The writer creates a wonderful mood of tension mixed with some humour and while it could be interpreted as a simple piece, it has sub-text galore and would make a wonderful piece!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Stairlift

This piece starts as a witty back and forth between a woman and her elderly mother. Right from the word go you can hear the ages of the characters reflected in their dialogue and that is not always an easy thing to accomplish. The piece then proceeds to take a very accurate snapshot of a mother/daughter relationship (where a mother find fault and her daughter justifies even when she shouldn't have to). However, as I moved through and got to the end (not going to spoil it) I found myself saddened and moved. All in all its lovely.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Tabloid

This piece gives wonderfully imagery in its dialogue. This coupled with the beautiful character creation with complex lives and relationships makes this a great play to begin with. However, I then listened to two of the songs ('Tabloid' & 'Hope and Pirde') and WOW! Beautiful piece and as catchy as any musical tune I've listened to (and I'm a huge musicals fan!) I would love to see this in the West End as I feel its on par with any of the big shows out there, brilliantly done!
