  • Christopher Plumridge: Dark & Stormy

I love a bit of 'noir' and DARK AND STORMY did not let me down. This is a brilliantly, dare I say Tarrantino-esque, standoff between two wonderfully written characters. I would love to see this staged!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Grandmother's House

Oh I love a good twist of an old tale and this one had me gripped throughout! At the same time it's troubling how grandma's condition is played on. I also love how this great story is left open for us to ponder what happens next. It's left me thinking, which is always a great thing!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Carnality

This must be the most difficult situation for a couple to try to pull away from, split between love and hate, probably in equal measure. Mark portrays this brilliantly in this well written, beautiful play. I couldn't help but want to shout at them "get back together, you both know you want to!" Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Drink This

We've often heard, or often quoted "it was the drink talking", well in this fun play Rachel makes the alcohol do just that. What a great idea to have drink bottles talking to each other, animated and interacting with each other when we think they are standing quite in the drinks cabinet. That aside this is a touching tale of friendship. It's got a lot of bottle!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Breakfast Scene

Sometimes life seems as if we are just reading from a script, so this short two hander from Michelle tells us we need to sometimes divert from the script and realise what's happening. I love the staging of this play and the fact we cannot clearly decipher between a real life couple and actors acting out a scene. Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Feral

I love the energy which runs throughout this short two hander, the two sisters relationship is described perfectly. When reading a script I like to be drawn into the scene, I certainly did here, I could fell myself sitting in the garden looking out for coyotes and feral cats. I loved it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: DEAD & COMPANY (5 minute play)

I am I awe of writers who can say so much in so few words, and this is a fine example. I love the way it is set, the victim listening to his Bluetooth speaker and dancing along to the oldies while his demise is played out in a series of quotes - inspired.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Happy Holidays (or Bust) (10 minute play)

From then offset the author of this fun piece made me feel part of this wonderful and quirky family. The dialogue skips along at pace and feels palpable and you can't help feel sorry for the self conscious Claire as she tries to come to terms with the picture on the family Christmas card. Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Nights from Now On (5 minute play)

This short piece by Elisebeth is moving, thought provoking and simply beautiful. It also serves as a reminder of a grim future for us and the world we live in if we don't act now. There is so much said in so few words, this should be read by all. Excellent!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Maltese Walter

Minigan has come up with such an incredible idea, one I wish I had thought of myself, Noir Man! I love the way Walter can quickly turn into his alter-ego, even managing to change the atmosphere of the scene, this would be wonderful staged, in fact if filmed he could change the scene into black and white. I absolutely love this play! Be sure to read it!
