  • Christopher Plumridge: Fan C Cuts

Fan C Cuts is great fun, silly, fast paced and wonderfully written. I love the idea of the various characters hanging around the hair salon, snippets of all their back stories and the banter between them is really funny! I'm not sure why but I found this hilarious!!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Serious Moonlight

Being a Bowie fan I could not resist reading this play by McClain Full of energy, the dialogue between the two characters is electric. A big twist kicks in half way through which leads on to a great finale. I wonder if they got to put on their red shoes and dance the blues? Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Breaking (a monologue and performance piece)

Reading this excellent, poetic monologue by Berl had me riding the quest of the wave itself. To begin with it brought back memories of jumping the waves with my young stepson, his laughter washed away by the wave that caries him! Then I began to see the real meaning, the real breaking which we all must come close to in life. Add in the plate metaphor and there is a wonderful piece of performance art here, well done!

  • Christopher Plumridge: THE GLASS SLIPPER SAGA

Having had the pleasure of recently directing the Pantomime Cinderella, I often wonder what their 'happy ever after' would look like. Lermond paints a perfect scenario of this in THE GLASS SLIPPER SAGA. I can clearly see this well written piece being staged out, and I hope I get to do just that! Marvellous.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Next Week

Having pushed my own mother to the brink of knocking myself, and any one of my three siblings, into next week I can totally relate to this lovely short play by Fields. What a great idea to come up with in the first place, so well written too. Give this a read, otherwise your own mother might knock you.....you know where!! Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Pee Hot, or The St. Agnes Fiasco

After reading a reading another of Jarred's wonderful, absurdly funny plays I simply had to read this just from the title. Let me be the 4th in line to compare this writers talents and style to the brilliant Monty Python! This is ridiculous, silly, stupid yet excellently funny, every line a joke in itself, I simple must find thyme to read more of this writers fantastic nonsense!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Prince's Richard

I have to hand it to Jarred Corona, I genuinely haven't laughed so much reading a play as I have this! It's so funny, brilliantly named characters and incredible innuendo! I sometimes direct, so this is high on my list to one day produce if I can find enough happy loons to act in it, which I'm sure I can. Utterly, hilariously wonderful, READ THIS!!!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Meeting

What a great two hander this is by Feeny-Williams, lots of laugh out loud moments during the brilliant interaction with her two characters. Playwrights can surely relate to this piece, finally getting their big break then (usually needlessly) worrying about having their big break! This is wonderful, I would love to see it staged.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Ghost In The Net

I love a play which can suddenly change direction when least expected, this one by Hall certainly does. Using tennis as a metaphor for life is also inspired, as a player myself, the game can switch in an instant, just as in life. Great characters with perfect interaction too.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Bluebells

This poetic short from Hall is moving and disturbing in equal measure. I'm impressed at the contrast the writer has created, the freedom of the bluebell field against the trapped and claustrophobic situation the narrator finds herself in. So many questions in such a small piece. Excellent.
