  • Christopher Plumridge: Time Ladies, Please.

This little piece is so much fun, for those who have seen the British sitcom 'Last of the Summer Wine' will surely see my comparison. I would love to see this being staged, the two ladies conversation over their afternoon tea is inspired. Everyone read this!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Overnight Bag

Ha ha, Dickson has created a brilliant barrage of funny sarcasm in this fresh outlook on a mid life crisis! Lots of great lines told uniquely in the narrators call to her mother. Great stuff!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Fab 4

Ha, this is wonderful! I thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie of the 3 characters stuck in a jar. Then near the end a great twist kicks in, read it for yourself, it's fab!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Four Things I Never Ask About (monologue)

Wow, there are so many emotions crammed together in this disturbing, claustrophobic and moving short monologue. The reader is immediately drawn into the dire situation the narrator is forced to try to survive. I loved it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Tooth Fairy from Hell: A Monologue

Luann Strayers Tooth Fairy is genius, not only do we see a disgruntled tooth fairy throwing a tantrum, we also see deep into the story of her life and the relationship she has with her siblings. This would be a great piece for an ambitious young actor to get her teeth (pun intended!) into. Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Basket Case

What a fun little farce this is, lots of visual humour especially with the bumbling jewel thieves! In true British humour, sweet Mrs Morris gets herself tangled up with the Russian villains to great comic effect. Also the writer has made clear the set, making it easy to visualise how this could be staged. I can see this being played out to theatres across the land to the joy of the audiences. Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: It's Not Blood

The tense, gritty dialogue between the two brothers grips you from the offset. Ruyle brings to life their family history brilliantly and we feel the boys pain as they contemplate their future, whether or not to follow their destiny. Great, gripping two hander!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Corn Mother

Compelled to read this after reading Dark Gallery by Luann Strayer, I am once again chilled and on edge. This writer has a gift for subtle suspense and horror akin to Hitchcock and I can't get enough. If I were to listen to Rachel tell these tales by the camp fire I know I would have trouble to sleep in my tent. Excellent and Gripping!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Missing

Right from the description of the characters this play had me gripped. The set is described perfectly and you can clearly see it being staged, I like the touch of having both houses visible at the same time with the void between. This could easily be adapted to a full length play, such are the depth of character and story, but stands up brilliantly as it is. Excellent!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Dark Gallery

DARK GALLERY truly had me gripped in its power from the offset, dark, disturbing and exciting. One of those pieces I read quickly, desperate to find out what happens! The Writer really has created a master piece to match the paintings projected on the walls of this gallery. Staged thoughtfully, with good projection and subtle lighting this would make a very chilling play indeed. Excellent!
