  • Christopher Plumridge: "... time's up" (10 minutes)

Edvard Munch's painting, The Scream looks down fittingly on this excellent scene penned by Martin. This session 'Unusual' psychiatrist Sylvia and her newest, troubled client John takes many twists and turns which lead to a most unexpected ending, which I loved!! This is a must read!

  • Christopher Plumridge: All Grown Up

This is a truly beautiful play by Hall, set simply and simply wonderful. Watching the server Janice interject between the father and daughters strained conversation works perfectly, you can't help but want to proverbaly bash their heads together and say 'talk!' Read this and find out for yourself, I repeat, it's beautiful!

  • Christopher Plumridge: My Vagina Has A First Name

To begin with the title of this play by Hall is genius in itself, I can't help have the tune 'my baloney has a first name' running through my head! This sets a great scene of a group of female friends meeting online, their friendship is palpable, drop in the 'P' bomb and one hilarious line amongst many very funny lines and you have a masterpiece! Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Magna Mora

What an interesting concept Cern has created in this well written piece, to think that the universe pauses when we have a big decision to make. I love the interaction between the characters and the fun that Mr Jones brings to his important role. So many questions unanswered, a huge cliff hanger, perfect!!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Ben's Key

In this great piece by Kurtz, Ben Franklin arrives somewhat unexpectedly in Sally's bar, there follows a wonderful conversation between them, the difference in their respective times is very apparent. I particularly enjoyed Sally's belief that this was just another impersonator until the key to the story is unveiled. Great fun!!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Bulletproof

I love a dark comedy and this did not let me down, Kane has created two great characters, one is determined to keep his job and pretty much bullies the other to help him. This piece could also easily be staged as one of those crazy challenges crazy people play out live on social media to get as many 'hits' as possible. Great play, I loved it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: She's Blown Away

Gatton has created three believable characters in this short piece, especially in Mika. As she tries to stop an imminent, albeit minor catastrophe, her story of why unfolds. This is crafted very well, nice!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Cancelled - A Script In A Day

What a poignant piece this is about fame and its sometimes evil trappings, so relatable after the events following England's loss in the Euro Cup Final this year. It beggers belief that this story could happen, but sadly things like this do and Alice describes this very well. Great !

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Fourth Understudy

Haha what great fun this play is from Feeny-Williams, a treat to read! I'm not sure I ever want to be in the same theatre as Alison! Fine pacey writing, I could clearly feel the tension backstage as the stage manager loses his patience, and his actors just as quickly. Great stuff!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Monster

From half way down page one I became fully engrossed in this powerful and stirring piece by Fields. School shootings must be amongst the most upsetting and heartbreaking events to ever have to hear of. We all question the existence of God in these horrible situations, the writer brilliantly brings this to the stage in his excellent, highly tense script. This will stick in my mind.
