  • Brenton Kniess: Too Old

I don't know how Moughon does it. Every time I've read one of her phenomenal horror shorts my jaw drops at the twist that you never see coming. These characters are well-developed and there is great chemistry between the two of them. The dialogue flows very nicely and the action is expertly layered for the shocking twist. To summarize, Moughon is a horror genius.

  • Brenton Kniess: Va-Va-Vicarious

This is a wonderful short play that would make for an excellent two-hander between two actors who have great comedic timing. It's funny, romantic, sharp, and witty, and its dialogue is so quick yet clever, Ruyle creates some very vivid imagery that is not only great for the actors, but the director as well!

  • Brenton Kniess: welcome to the neighborhood (monologue)

It’s funny, well crafted, and would definitely be the right monologue to use to get a callback. The actor can have great fun with this!

  • Brenton Kniess: Does It Bring You Joy? (a short play)

What a sweet and warm short play! Nora Louise Syran writes a sharp and extremely heartfelt play that has a nice fluidity to the dialogue. This is a very charming two-hander that holds so much heart.

  • Brenton Kniess: St. John of Suburbia

John Patrick Bray's St. John of Suburbia is a well-crafted and unique story that is woven together with some strong dramatic moments as well as some laughs. The dialogue is swift and full of richness which allows for some great pacing of the action. I would love to see this staged! So many great elements for designers, actors, as well as directors.

  • Brenton Kniess: Boundaries

English writes a two-hander that is full of emotional depth and holds so many dramatic stakes. English does an excellent job of exploring the lifestyle of polygamy and how it has changed these two women. English provides powerful subtext that can be downright chilling. It's a hauntingly dramatic play!

  • Brenton Kniess: Grave Misunderstanding

Sapio writes such a chilling yet compelling short play that is woven together so eloquently. There is a great sense of theatricality here that totally enhances the spookiness of this play. As many others have already stated, this would be an excellent addition to any Halloween-themed night of short plays.

  • Brenton Kniess: Beldam & Gaffer

Soltero-Brown writes an extremely fleshed-out two-hander that makes the audience connect with Nola and Frank on a very personal level. It's sweet, and sad, and yet has a nice flavor of romance. The dialogue flows very nicely and Soltero-Brown structures the action beautifully.

  • Brenton Kniess: Cliff on the Edge (45 minutes)

CLIFF ON THE EDGE is a great dramedy that covers the climate crisis well. There is a great sense of comedy, but also dramatically captivating and will truly engage audiences. A great commentary by Harris!
