  • Brenton Kniess: The Night Belongs to Me

The dialogue here is great fun, it’s snappy and allows for some really great interactions between Nina and Mark. While I found the dialogue very charming, there is also a sense of dread once the twist is revealed. Alles’ ability to shift from the light comedy to the darkness of the story is something to truly commend!

  • Brenton Kniess: The Fourth Pyramid

Ollett crafts a wonderfully unique science fiction experience! There is great comedy, but also a strong dramatic core that truly brings the story together in unexpected ways. It's charming, smart, and very well crafted!

  • Brenton Kniess: Rewind

The short synopsis alone got me hooked on Norkin's latest work, REWIND. Being a movie buff, I truly find the the location delightful. Being able to envision this movie store brings back many child hood memories, but Norkin makes those memories of mine and adds a dark flavor to them. There is a great use of mystery, snappy dialogue, and well developed twists that just adds to Norkin's immaculate world building. I'd totally love to see this staged! Bravo, Morey!

  • Brenton Kniess: She Sells Seashells

Swenson does so much in 10 minutes. Swenson builds up so much emotion and love for this couple that is struggling. A wife who has dementia, and a loving husband who does what he can even though he may feel it might not be enough. There is so much pain but when there is pain there is heart, and Swenson displays that beautifully within this short play.

  • Brenton Kniess: The Butterfly Anchor

One moment we feel on top of the world, and then suddenly, it seems like our world is crumbling right before our eyes. Friedman makes us consider the questions we don't want to face when we're approaching death, but with those questions come answers and those answers offer us a message of life. The Butterfly Anchor isn't really about death at all, it's about hope, love, passion, and support, it's about living! We all face challenges and we all die, but we also have people to support and love us through our time of struggle. A breathtaking beautiful play!

  • Brenton Kniess: Midler on the Roof

This dark comedy has all the right elements in all the right places! There's a great sense of laughter within MIDLER ON THE ROOF. Not only does Busser set up a great farce, but it's also surprisingly wise. A great read that would be incredibly fun to see staged!
